I saw the first episode, and the modern monarchy concept just feels corny. Constitutional monarchies exist, but…
it adds a sense of whimsy, it doesn't have to be accurate. I think this drama IS in fact corny but it's self aware, it's not trying to come off as serious... Also corporate/political sounds egregious good lord
I'm gonna throw Prime Minister Min a bone...had he known her father was trying to marry her off I think he would…
you totally have a point but at the same time they've been friends for ages and he could've initiated something between them (not marriage, just a romantic relationship or whatever) a long time ago and he never did
I would've given a 10 star, except for the ending which almost ruins the show for me.She's like "choose making…
ironically I disliked the ending for a similar (but at the same time, the exact opposite) reason haha. I thought it was inconsiderate of her to give him an ultimatum and ask him to quit his lifelong dream. It's true that there was a risk of eventual bodily harm but it still should've been entirely his choice. And I didn't think this was perfectly resolved at the end... for such a major conflict in the story, it had a very vague and unclear resolution.
Hard disagree. She was the directorâs first choice for a reason, ratings booming and she was praised by critics…
Yes, I'm aware most people disagree... However, I personally disliked her performance (I think me liking the show was a factor in how disappointed I was by her acting. It felt like wasted potential to me)
imo if this was in netflix, it would have topped my dearest for sure. currently in episode 7 and damn the story…
not even close omg... no amount of traumatic events on this drama make it compare to the emotional depth of My Dearest. Pacing, character development, cinematography, chemistry...etc. They're all superior on it.
I was so surprised to find people praising the main actress... She wasn't horrible but her acting lacked so much especially compared to the quality of the show. It's like she had 1 expression throughout the entire thing.. idk if it's excessive botox or what, but her face didn't even move when she cried, it was so noticeable to me and really took me out of the story. It made it really hard to view her character as warm or lovable, or to just care about her. I think the show would've easily been a 9.5 for me instead of an 8 if it had a different actress.
edit: but she might get them back soon so I'm hoping it'll get better
And the proposal was so untimely I agree lmao
