I have no idea where everyone is getting "the ring is supernatural/magic" from. There are definitely plot holes when it comes to the ring so I understand a lot of confusion but it's not magic. The best conclusion I can come to is that it was some kind of rule/law The Four Horsemen put in place and no matter how you ended up with the ring, they have to honour it. So yeah, their own stupid rule but the rich people in these kind of shows aren't proven to be very smart. Especially since this all just feels like a game to them, rich people are corrupt and people who are supposed to uphold the law are scared of them. That's all there really is to it.

Shows that are airing always have a high or generally unstable rating until the series finishes airing. Not everybody rates it while they're still watching it, others will change their rating week by week and some people wont watch it until it finishes airing. All those things affect the general rating of the show. It is very likely to drop once the show is over/been out for a little while. While I do agree that the shows you listed are "better", I was around while ITSAY was airing and it had a solid 9.5 rating up until it finished so it's really best not to think too hard about the rating of on-going shows. And of course, you're entitled to your own opinion.
