That’s interesting. I unfortunately wasn’t aware of this story before watching the drama, but I am quite sure that if I had read the novel 11 years ago, my unwavering loyalty to Xiang Liu would have remained to this day. Not sure about the other one, but I guess YaoXuan also has an undeniable appeal because of how fascinating Cang Xuan is. His heart is in the right place, but unfortunately the circumstances are not in his favor.

Pretty obvious, no? There's a writing technique called "snake in the grass" that asks the reader to pay attention to what is being implicitly said, but I guess the production team just had enough and decided to expose the snake for all to see ahahah
