One of those rare cases where the remake elevates the original and even complements the greatness of both versions. At the risk of sounding blasphemous, some aspects of the Chinese version are even better than the original. Now time to watch the kdrama again. Hard to find such good content like this in multiple languages and cultures. We are blessed 🥹

I’m already so worried with the IS THERE ROMANCE/HAPPY ENDING CROWD ☠️ MDL folks legit skip underrated gems or downvote great pieces of art because it doesn’t have the amount of “fluff” (🤢) they deem necessary to make it a good drama. Please drama gods, remove these individuals from this viewing experience. Gonna deposit my trust in Tan and the scriptwriters to handle this drama the way it should be handled. 🙏🏻
There is a familiar amoeba lurking here in this comment section and I have considered long and hard whether I should say something or not but unfortunately, the worst part of me won, so I will say it.
Any whiff of an ill-intentioned comment towards Tan Jianci in this comment section will be taken for what it truly is: a continuation of the failed attempt to smear his name. Failed in every sense of the word, because as the days go by, it becomes more and more clear how palpable the desperation of those behind the scenes is. So go back to your sewer and try to do something productive. This here ain’t your territory.
Stop losing sleep over whether this is a period drama, a space opera, a survival show, a reality dating show, a Tarantino movie, a Mexican novela, or whatever the hell Tan Jianci has been hired to star in. Unlike some unemployed folks, he has been doing multiple things quite literally at the same time.
The year has barely started so try to do and be better. The only person here you are causing damage to is yourself, because not even your fave(s) know of your ignoble existence.
Seeing Tan’s trajectory from 2016 when he first went to Hengdian to ten years later is the definition of perseverance 🥲🥹 Everything will go well from now on. January 25 was a victory for every single XTH as well 🔥🦔
