It's not the point of her story but it should have been. The fact that she ultimately never really addressed her trauma in a healthy, effective way is why we see her persisting in that "never abandon me" mindset. It's also why she's a "toxic" (I don't like using that term, but you get the idea) character as well. Nobody has the right to demand of anyone that they should spend a lifetime only with them. Or that they can't ever abandon them. No person should be expected to be another person's emotional crutch. It feels unbalanced. That's a troubling, unreasonable expectation. An emotional weight nobody should have to shoulder. But I agree, she wanted a companion, and she got one.
"She doesn't want to go through it again", well bad news because unless she dies first, she will eventually go through it again. Had she learned how to confront her childhood issues and fears and learned how to be able to live and love life being by herself first, she would have enjoyed being in a relationship and eventually being out of it.
