Title Backstreet Rookie Spoiler
I actually think that the writing of ep 10 was one of the worse, drama for the sake of drama. Emotions wise, they…
drama for the sake of drama? i cried tho. the writing has been leading to this moments since ep 1. we see dae hyun on a toxic relationship finally breaking. we see saet byuls little sister real feelings toward his sister after all that bitchy moments. we see dae hyuns parents finally talking and being an emotional support to each other after all that violence. then is it still a drama for the sake of drama? all events are pointing out to this heartwarming eps to happen. u see if all that dramas didn't happen, then the writing will be truly shallow.

i felt so bad to those hesitating viewers who planned to watch this but didn't do because of the blatant criticisms solely based on what they've seen on pilot episode. this could honestly be a great contender to best rom coms of the decade. the characters are wonderfully written i cant help but love them. if u said the kissing scene in ep 1 was so random and was inserted for the sake of sexual innuendo watch til ep 10. i love that the romance between our leads flow naturally, it wasn't forced at all. i hope the director stay true and will not get lost on later episodes. this might became one of my fav drama this year.

Why would you have to bring up IOTNBO in the first place? It's good that you're enjoying this drama but why mention…
nope. its just that this drama receives so much undeserving hate. they judged it too early. i just want to make some hesitating viewers to give this a chance. i brought up iotnbo because i've been watching them simultaneously and i cant help but compare. i'm not belittling iotnbo, i want someone to interact that share some opinions to me that's why. all that i saw here is just critic over critic. i need someone to talk to how good this drama is. if it come out like that to you, sorry. watching dramas will always be subjective :) lets just have a peaceful community.

i like both in different ways.. love the fl in both and understand why the MLs in both are the way they are..…
u know what i felt u read my mind. i have exactly same feels. yes, i enjoy character-driven drama than plot-driven drama. truly, the shots in IOTNBO is majestic to the point it kind of dampens the viewer's emotion. it became eyes than heart. unlike on here, everything is on rhythm because the im fully immersed now on the characters. we wait for journey than the outcome. which on IOTNBO is we wait for the outcome than the journey.

I think a large part of Korea agrees with you. Whilst IONTBO stays stable at 1.5m viewers on Saturday and continues…
Yazz, super agree w/ what you said. I really really liked our lead's acting in this. Their facial expressions is a bomb and on fire. Perhaps that maybe the reason why I kind of not liking that much IOTNBO, because KSH again played that stoic character. He's good tho in his role. But maybe he needs to explore different roles. I honestly think the role could be given to anyone. Unlike JCW, he totally owned his character in this drama.

I'm not watching IOTNBO so I can't make the comparisons, but I did read some issues about the FL in IOTNBO, something…
the writing dampened the portrayal of trauma in IOTNBO, it could be better. But then IOTNBO was still good tho, i just prefer the Fl here in BS. Haha.

the FL in IOTNBO is actually a misunderstood character just like Saet-byul, it's just that the writing here is far better because we saw character developments unlike in IOTNBO.

I think the childhood subplot played an important role in this one. Moon Young witnessed that scene in the river…
Yes the healing is still not enough. Why the writer need to do this? Maybe you should try dramas penned by Noh Hee Kyung, she got to write characters with personal traumas, and i think, just for me, it was dealt realistically and more appropriate than this one. You should just try hihi. It was a mix of comedy and drama too. Titles are Dear My Friends, Live, That's Okay It's Love.

1. it’s really useless to compare because GT is not him and he is not GT2. It’s okay. It match the scene.…

i thought the romance was too quick too. the build up felt inadequate.
yes we need more moments of them coming terms with their past traumas first, i just don't like that the writer decided to make them together just like that.

Personally I think it would be too unrealistic if Moon young's character has a big change. She doesn't have a…
That's what I'm talking about. The psychiatry hospital actually sucks. How come they didn't approach MY up to now? The symptoms were pretty obvious. Or even GT? Being surrounded by people with mental illness, he still haven't realized MY is one of them?

MY had our dear KT to guide her now. I just think KT really need to recommend some professional help to MY by now. I mean KT realized that she had disorder at this point of time right? We just need proper treatment on mental ilness now om shows. Watch Be Melodramatic btw. It dealt on mental illness on a very careful manner. This is a nice discussion btw.

i think you kind of forgot the setting is psychiatry hospital, she's surrounded by too many people who can reach out to her now (example our dear GT?) and will explain her condition slowly

1. Why compare? Maybe I just want to vent my frustration or I'm just used to be critical now when Im watching dramas. Sorry if it injects u some negative energy.

2. 60+ dramas I've watched through years & I'm being picky now. OST really mattered to me honey.

3. Read the comment below. It was my reply here.

4. Right? Its just tiring to bear another plot device like that.

5. The world is indeed obsessed w/ romance haha. I just had this belief that one can heal without romance. Seek professional help, that's the key. MY with that money can get sessions on psychiatry. This is the wrong thing in dramas or movies that deal with mental illness, they tend to impose that u can heal yourself on through romance only.
