Decent drama about cliche plot

I watched this long time ago and it was considered decent from the year the drama was released. Zhao Zhendong plays as amnesia CEO who become father of FL's children. The drama contains generic plot like one-night stand, amnesia, and even verbal sparring between FL and her family. I quite like Zhang Jinyi portrayal of FL, she is not love brain FL and not too damsel in distress when she was bullied by her stepsister and step mother.

For the chemistry, I have no doubt about Zhao Zhendong and Zhang Jinyi even almost no romance scene between them, it feels warm to see them interact with the kids especially Zhao Zhendong. So I understand why his earlier works was become dad. The comedy was there but it feels quite weak and the romance development was quite slow.

The cons was Zhang Jinyi voice was being dubbed.

Still worth to watch.

It still too raw to be drama

I watched this because of Zhang Jinyi and i quite expected reverse harem but the pacing was to fast and messy especially in the middle of drama the scene was too fast and plot was kind of messy. The premises was actually good about FL who transmigrated into harem and get liking from four previous harem that being humiliated by her. The harem MLs was quite not memorable even the Chaplin assassin and don't expected kiss or romance scene. The system was practically useless. If the script could be polished and the character could be more developed it would be better.

Avoid this at cost.

Quite depressing drama

I watched this on last year when i want to search Wang Ziyi works and it was one of her decent dramas. I only found out Li Yin as ML even i don't watch his previous work, i think he nailed the character especially when he was on hospital.

This drama has depressing vibe and the deserved end since there is no one in here was good person even FL had her own agenda to stay with ML, she never in love with ML since ML took her former lover heart and she only love his heart (literal meaning). The pace was quite fast and packed.

ML never took FL as her priority due his pride and only choose her when SFL are leaving him. I think ML really love SFL even she did him wrong. He is quite inconsistent he angry when FL refused to divorce but when FL agree to divorce him since SFL was betrayed him he still got angry. His ending was quite deserved.

Recommended if you want to get depressing vibe.

The Director was confused how to choose the priority; Ghost stories or Boys Love

I watched the drama since it comes from Ma Qian Huan but i cannot stand the acting for his other Main leads acting. There is quite daring kisses between but this drama has unkempt plot which you feel confused when you're watching this. The premises is about the ghost stories but it feels like half-baked BL drama.

I tried to fast forward to get summary and still don't understand about the story. Not recommended to watch.

The contrast between romance development and story pacing

I watched this because of Han Yutong and i quite like Lanbo. But i quite not hate it nor like it. It feels lukewarm. The chemistry between the leads was quite restrained.

You can see the production team's effort; the actors (Lan Bo is probably the closest to ML character in terms of personal image and temperament among the five versions), sets, and costumes are all quite well done, but the content is average.

Plot is about FL husband has a secret love interest and is unwilling to consummate their marriage. Facing the dual predicament of her husband's incompetence and internal family strife, FL seeking an heir, uses the opportunity of falling off a cliff while burning incense to get close to the imprisoned ML. ML is actually the emperor's brother-in-law. FL disguises herself as a maid.
After becoming pregnant, FL leaves and cuts off all contact, while also helping ML clear his name.

ML thinks he's the adulterer, is competitive, and easily appeased. When they look at each other, the male lead thinks she truly loves him, while FL thinks she can finally sleep with him. The story was quite dragged for long even the pace is slightly fast compared to other version but the romance development was too slow. The leads only got together befor 5 minutes of ending.

Can watch if you don't have anything to watch.

FL was no brainer while ML has no mouth to tell the truth

I watched this because the premise was interesting.

The beginning was quite frustrating; FL was constantly being abused and weak. Despite having the ability to eavesdrop on others' thoughts, she never bothered to use her brain to find out the truth. There were also constant misunderstandings between FL and the ML.FL mother was also completely blind to reality. The plot is dragged in the middle of drama. FLgets revenge in stupid and frustrating way.

ML is kind of tsundere CEO that looks scary but he craved for FL attention even FL recheck if she hear the thought right. I like Shi Jia acting in here.. ML didn't said anything to FL he was the actual savior which is make the drama make frustrating.

The most frustrating part was SML. He burn his parents' house, causing their deaths, and already made the FL mother take the blame. He didn't get deserved retribution after all he did.

Still decent watch.

My Favourite Wang Dao Tie-Zhao Jia collaboration

I watched last year and so far this is my favorite Wang Daotie-Zhao Jia works so far. The chemistry is right and they chooses the theme of drama right.

This script has a fresh and interesting premise. The first half is a light comedy, the middle is sweet romance, and the later part features some redemption. There are no clichéd plots. SFL is written out early on; her early antics mostly turn into assists, while the SML is the ultimate wingman for ML and FL.

The emotional portrayal is delicate. FL's journey from initially deceiving purely for money and fearing exposure, to falling in love, to being unwilling to leave, to deep love, is portrayed very well. Applause to Zhao Jia.

Whether the true or false heiress is included in the ending is irrelevant, because regardless of FL's identity, the ML has already accepted her, which adds to the ending's perfection

The letdown is the dubbing since it's from Tinghuadao.

Recommended to watch.

An unconventional political comedy

I watched this today and it was quite new approach of political comedy drama.

The character design is good, but the plot is average. FL is purely strong, extremely strong without any cheat code like time travel or transmigration plot.

Prince Dingnan, due to a shortage of military funds, sends his daughter FL to the capital to offer birthday greetings. FL returns to the capital for a birthday celebration, but her reputation spreads far and wide. It's supposedly about collecting debts, but it's much more than that. This isn't just a pure comedy it's political with comedy facade. FL simultaneously demanding the return of withheld military pay and secretly gathering dirt on ministers, attracting widespread attention.

FL is a classic example of a character with a charmingly contrasting personality. On the surface, she appears carefree and easygoing, but in reality, she is skilled in both literature and martial arts, and her shrewd calculations are astounding. She effortlessly resolves various crises and subdues those with ill intentions. Jin Luying delivers her character well.

I quite not familiar with Liu Zhao Hong so it's my first time seeing his acting. ML is the eldest grandson of the emperor. He appears delicate and frail, but is actually a hidden master. ML falls in love with FL at first sight and constantly leans into her arms – this contrasting charm is so endearing but there aren't many romantic scenes between the ML and FL, although there are quite a few instances of the ML weakly leaning into the FL's arms. The ending indicates open ending between the leads.

If you don't mind almost no romance part you could watch this.

Quite boring in the middle

I watched this drama years ago and this drama was another drama that hard to finish.

Zuo Ming and Li Ruo Qi have nice chemistry but those fake kisses was infuriating. It's a sweet drama with no angst but i got too bored on the middle so i need few times to finish this drama. The plot got many popular tropes from short dramas, such as a substitute marriage, ML and FL not knowing each other's marriage partners (in short dramas, marriage doesn't even require a physical certificate), and the iconic scene where the ML shields the FL from a stick.

The logic in this drama why the FL and her classmates don't recognize the ML, it's not like they got amnesia on one go.

Only deserve to watch only once

The premises was good but they ruined it after ancient ML appears.

I watching another Li Youlin and Jin Luying dramas and this one was the weakest drama for all aspect expect the both leads acting and chemistry.

The modern drama parts were honestly quite unwatchable. The screenwriter probably intended for FLs to fight against powerful figures, but clearly failed. On the positive side, the first 40 episodes show the mutual help and touching friendship between the girls. The scene of teaching and performing dance is the best, especially the camera work, transitions, and editing—it's practically perfect.

After episode 40, the ancient ML appears, and everything changes. Perhaps to highlight the ML's role, the ancient FL is weakened in various ways. The original theme of two strong female leads helping each other is gone, turning into a clichéd hero-saves-the-damsel scenario. The modern side is even worse; the entire story is condensed into a single sentence by the agent, which is then read aloud. All the exciting and thrilling moments on both sides are gone, and the villains don't seem particularly pitiful, nor do the scumbags seem particularly unfortunate.

Need to appreciate last scumbag ancient husband acting for being repressed angry due his pride was destroyed by FL. The ending was abrupt.

Good luck for watching this.

Nice premises but need improvement for second couple arc

I watched this last year and the premises is quite interesting. FL has severe sister complex. To be with her sister, she marries her brother-in-law's younger brother. Then, because her brother-in-law is suspected of cheating and she want to divorce.
ML has to appease FL while also ensuring the happiness of his older brother and sister-in-law's marriage, acting as their love protector or their punchback.

Wu Yiqiao's portrayal of FL is adorable and endearing, but on few scenes it feels artificial. Hou Pengyan's as family punchback from FL, SML and FL older sister was quite hilarious and pitiful at the same time. I quite enjoy sisters chemistry too.

Personally there is room of improvement for second couple since they lacked of chemistry and their arc was quite limited. SML aka the older brother has limited screentime so we didn't get enough of his character. The villains are quite annoying even it was easily defeated by the sisters. If they polished the second couple arc, i would give the rating higher.

Only for fans.

Quite common drama

I watched this yesterday and i quite like Yu Pei Shan non-scumbag role. I never see Gu Jia Han but she looks like Kim Tae Hee with short hair and her acting was natural. Their romance development pace was good and ML even suggest FL to not force herself if she was not fall in love with him on the fist day of their marriage even ML want to kiss FL so bad.

The plot is generic FL was SML's personal secretary and hope to get engaged with him but him choosing SFL because of business project make 5 years of sacrifice means nothing. FL decide to resign without telling SML. The usual bullies from SML and SFL only happened to few minutes and ML's entrance was quite fast and FL suddenly ask ML to marry her. ML recheck FL question and they finally get marriage certificate.

The Hidden identity is not hiding since ML was honest about everything including give all of his property to FL since he hopelessly fall in love with FL since 10 years ago. I quite like how ML was jealous for FL best friend and using his friend who happened to be fans of FL's friend as bait to hinder third wheel on his dating with his wife.

The cons is SML is quite stubborn while FL explain she married and never want to involve with him again even after he go to jail. The ending was fine but not into memorable part.

Still decent watch though.

Both leads need to get chemistry and acting lesson

I don’t find either Zhao Caizi and Wang Qian Shuo have good chemistry but i think both still show lacked of acting skill in here while Zhao Caizi seems to stiff when it comes to romance moment and Wang Qian Shuo lack of emotion when he deliver his speech, but the plot was actually nice but the editing seems too sloppy, so i was confused and the scene where FL throws stone to scumbag head was so satisfying and it was only good thin in this drama,

Better avoid this.

Delighted because they didn't use force Happy Ending in here.

I watched this since i like Lan Bo and Lu Lu Lu first collaboration and this was also still decent for my liking.

I always think from the FL's perspective, so everything the FL does is reasonable. You can feel that the FL doesn't have much affection for the male lead. She is a merchant's daughter with nowhere else to turn, and can only temporarily rely on the ML for the sake of her younger brother. FL always had a clear idea of what she wanted: neither becoming a concubine nor marrying ML.

It focuses on the plot and rarely depicts the romance between ML and FL; intimate scenes are not a priority. In this storyline, FL doesn't love the ML or rather, doesn't love him enough. She only wants a peaceful life, which the ML simply cannot provide FL needs.

Plot is well-developed, romance is minimum, and the tragic ending is reasonable. However, everyone who dislike tragic endings and only enjoy sweet romance should not watch it.

It's not common fake daughter-real daughter usual plot.

I watched this drama on November 2025 and i was surprised it was underrated drama It was look like common fake daughter-real daughter generic plot but the process how FL was accepting the phase from being adopted daughter, search her lost family to respect herself. I quite like Deng Yanni acting, she has lovely acting that tend to be not overreacted. Hu Jia Hao nailed the good guy ML

ML is green flag and i appreciate him since he tries so hard to give her space to heal and accept him since he is secretly in love with FL. FL's ex boyfriend is not typical evil villain he is too dumb and FL still appreciate him even she and him are not meant to be. This is the first time in a short drama that we've seen a relatively self-consistent explanation of SML behavior. SFL is still traditional villain on short drama so i count it as the cons of this drama.

Screenwriter give this drama reasonable logic, a decent post-production team, consistent costume (i love FL dresses) and creative direction, and a director with a very consistent sense of camerawork.

Recommended to watch.
