His dad was just caught up in the heat of the moment and got unreasonably mad. The main girl wasn't mad about the accident entirely, she mad that he lied to her about his identity. She believes that he didn't trust her enough to tell her the truth.
She later on defends him from the rude thing Pei Zhen says about him behind his back. I truly understand your frustration, but I don't think it's something to drop it over especially when you have 4 episodes left.
