I tried reading the webtoon and found that the personality portrayal in the drama is not very in sync with that…
Also I think it's a testament to the greatness of both that we care about the character integrity so much, whether you watch the drama first or read the webtoon first. Lol, you think many cared about the original WWWSK characters? Most watched for the chemistry of Park Min Young and Park Seo Joon. Lol, or maybe that was just me...

@nicole @3GGG @Tao
I'm kind of happy with both versions in different ways. I really love Im So-hyang's version of Mi-rae. I actually think it's consistent with the webtoon version that she has a mix of confident moments and struggling moments that show she is still a work in progress. That's exactly the impression I got from the character in the webtoon, even if they have slightly different feels. Every single thing she faced, she would falter at first. She never just suddenly started facing everything confidently and I don't think this Mi-rae is doing that either. She also takes me through Mi-rae's emotions in a way the webtoon sometimes has a hard time accomplishing.
Do Kyung-seok I have more mixed feelings about. There are a lot of things I like about the drama version, but he does have a few things I miss from the webtoon. I personally think his webtoon version is the hardest to capture, and, idk, kind of works more for the webtoon so that's part of the reason I don't mind the drama version feeling slightly different. I also think the character might feel more in-sync when he reconciles with his mom. I want that development to happen.
Ultimately, I think the storyline and progression of the leads in the webtoon works exceptionally well, but some of it wouldn't have translated as well. Really though, I just also like the progression and chemistry of the leads in this version, they are awkward and adorkable and their interactions have depth. They challenge each others perspectives and that was the most important thing to get right for me. So it doesn't matter so much to me that they've made the characters their own a bit.
im really debating on watching this knowing the fact that the PD was included in Jang Ja yeon's list. I cant support…
I'm so confused by the reports of this because the PD of this drama (and even all the other producers attached) isn't Song Byung Joon, like they assert it is, it's Choi Sung-bum. Is he involved in some way, higher up? It's just not clear enough for me to boycott, especially since all of the most closely involved people (who are likely working the hardest) are innocent.
I honestly adore him, though, if you go in with the mindset of him being a jerk, there are definitely moments…
Agree with this.
I also think this drama has some of the best episodes of a couple in a relationship towards the end, with a great mix between comedy and character development. It's a slow-burn romance but once they get together, they stay together and work on their issues. I don't know why, but it left me with a lot of fondness for both leads.
I enjoyed Gong Ki-tae's character since the beginning, but adored him once he fell and completely accepted his feelings. He was a really consistent, attentive, and supportive boyfriend, without ever turning overly sweet or seeming out-of-character.
Haha, can you tell I just literally came from a rewatch of this gem?
I like soo ah scenes in the latest eps but I don't want her to end up with dooshik it's awkwardl also she is the…
Even though I've liked soo ah for a while, I didn't really see how it could work between them. They didn't seem to work at all.
But they won me over ep 10, because I think Doo-shik and her could actually learn something from each other. She'll have sacrifice some of her many needs (hopefully) and he'll learn to stick up for himself more.
I've noticed a lot of people don't like Soo-ah, which I kind of get.
But honestly? She really isn't all that bad to me. In fact, I kind of love her. She's like the Jackie (That 70's Show) of the group! High-maintenance, doesn't quite fit in with them, but can never truly leave them anyway. I kind of enjoy how the other characters call her out for being shamelessly high-maintenance and think the actress plays it up in a rather funny way. It's becoming clear that she looks out for them in her own way too (i.e. staying away from Sol, lol, then letting herself get used as a "detector" and pushing Joon-ki to make amends with Seo-jin).
She's flawed like the rest of the characters, just perhaps not quite as charming, but I think she's pretty chill. She's not the average bitchy jealous ex-girlfriend, that's for sure. I definitely don't see how she's harassing Dong-gu. She just harmlessly teased the guy in ep 9, which I find kind of refreshing, and then she actually gave him some genuinely good advice. And because she also apologized for initially dumping him so harshly and gave him a mature send-off a few episodes ago, I don't really have any resentment towards her. It's clear her and Dong-gu weren't meant to be and both are moving on and returning to being begrudging friends, so I don't quite get the hate.
Anyway, I still have ep 10 to watch and I can't wait! I've clearly gotten pretty invested in this drama.
Wait, what happened to Park Hye Soo??? I didn't know this already started, can't wait to watch it.
@egg-mont Yeah, it's completely understandable that she would choose that.
I'll admit, seeing as she hasn't gotten great feedback in other lead roles so far, I can't help but feel disappointed that she turned down returning to the one role the audience not only loved her in, but feel her indispensable to. I actually thought it was going to be a great opportunity for her to work on her skills in a role she felt comfortable with and to get praise from the audience again. It's great to make bank, but this was the show that helped her to take off. So it's a bit of a shame that she chose a movie over this show. I wish her agency realized that pushing her into lead roles over a good role in an ensemble like Age of Youth does her a disservice. Do Kyungsoo is popular, though, so perhaps you're right that this was too hard to turn down :/
Trying so hard to not compare... Really wish they replaced Eun Jae's character...
@Kasjady I'm glad there is a small group of us that like this crazy new Eun-jae. Maybe because my fav scene of the one in the first season was her over-the-top fangirling for Yool-bin sunbae. I always liked the eccentric part of her personality more than the "soft, innocent" side, so I just feel like this is a version that has grown more into her crazy side. Let's keep in mind she's been living with 4 strong personalities for over a year that have taught her to be more comfortable with herself.
Oh, this definitely needs more people watching it. It's not just that it's wonderful so far (some Princess Man feels already!), it's that it feels like it will get even better as it goes along! I can't wait to watch episode 4.
So I usually don't like period dramas. I've seen Moon Embracing the Sun, Mirror of the Witch, Gu Family…
Haha I love the child story too. Unfortunately, I also can't wait to see Yeon Woo-jin as a lead in a good drama again! So I'm also excited for the adults. I'm glad we'll still be getting more of the child actors next week though.
Who know what the song when njw help eun bong hee to put the ice in her foot ??
It's an OST that hasn't been released yet. All other songs I've heard in the drama so far have been released so we'll probably get that song this week. It's such a pretty track!
The murderer still hasn't been caught though? I'd definitely say it isn't over yet. He'll probably lay low for a while, but he's clearly been targeting Bong Hee all this time so he'll definitely do so again. I'm still uncertain how his amnesia works into it though? There's definitely a whole backstory to these characters that we haven't learned yet.
Based on the comments here, I didn't think it would be. Thought it would be fluffy & simple, but it surprisingly gets better and better as it goes along, unlike many dramas. I find that the conflicts surrounding youths in the entertainment industry are actually addressed in a compelling way. The characters have surprising depth, if you can get over the dialogue occasionally dipping into saccharine territory. I personally think that Joy is green here, but much more promising than many make her out to be & she improves a lot as it goes along. Episodes 7 & 8 were the ones that really made me second-guess the show and now I don't even consider it fluff. It's more like a knife to my feels now, lol, because all the characters are hurting and actually have compelling reasons as to why.

Haha, I actually loved her in ep 6 though, even though her scenes are the hardest to watch.
