Title Moon River
ikr. she was never the cutesy type. wtf is he doing?
In the first 4 eps, she was tomboyish, but had plenty of cutesy, quirky antics thrown in. His performance is the same for me. It doesn’t always veer into her cuter side, but her tomboyish one as well.

Also some of the moments, like in ep 6, when he acted more feminine, were meant to connect Dal-yi back to the Crown Princess. Like how part of that makeover was about Dal-yi seeing her worth as a woman, as she didn’t value herself highly as such, thinking such clothes didn’t suit her. She wasn’t living a hardy life as a porter by choice, but wants to wear flower shoes and settle down with her family (probably connecting back to her original dream as Crown Princess to live happily with her first love). So none of this feels out of place for me.

The Problem wasn't that he wants to stay in the body and make Gyeonu suffer, I think FL and other approach to…
It's ok, hun. I already know you lack reading comprehension. Don't make things too difficult for yourself. I wrote that comment for the sake of those with sense who are tired of FLs getting needlessly slandered.

Seong-ah was the character I felt the worst for this episode, Bong-su was the jerk and you're a jerk defending his SAing behavior. Enjoy being a disgusting human being, I guess?

let me start with the person who pissed me off the MOST SeongA Dear!! I loved you! you were an angel! You were…
@Sweet Savage

Ok, no. Nope. You've gone too far. Only hypocritical jerk here is you, for having more compassion for a murderer than his victim who is technically getting sexually harassed by him while he holds her lover hostage. Ffs, talk about expecting an unreal amount of professionalism from a kid. Expecting nothing but compassion FROM her, despite having absolutely none FOR her. Absolutely disgusting.

We must have watched a different drama. She definitely tried to show him compassion, while also battling her own feelings on the matter. Before she is a shaman, she is a high school girl who has fought tooth and nail to save the life of someone who is now in great peril again. Keep in mind, she was also forced on to this path by her parents and now is repenting for acts she was forced to do as a child, so she is just as much in need of understanding for how hard all these pressures are. For you to only examine her actions from a professional perspective when this is a situation with very personal stakes for her is pretty unfair. I haven't seen any compassion from Bong-soo towards her life or struggles, despite demanding her love, he's never actually given her any in return either.

Also, I get needing to console him, but she can't give him what he’s fixating on atm. He wants to replace Gyeon-woo and have her romantic love. That is something she can't give, which has to be making her feel uncomfy. This is why she was working with Gyeon-woo to find some answers about him, to help bring him peace. That is the only way she can help both of them and that is the compassion she can offer for now. Only by learning about him will she be able to understand how to break through to him/console him.

From her perspective, she’s also seeing Bong-soo get to enjoy his life in ways that Gyeon-woo never did, so her feelings were a lot more complex than just plain annoyance. We see how her true feelings were conflicted in her interaction with Flower Master. She never rubbed in his face that nobody would love him, that was Yeom-hwa, you're just straight up lying there.

So I don't understand how you could blame Seong-ah, when Bong-soo was totally oblivious to her feelings before Yeom-hwa got in his head, then allowed him to interfere on her meeting with Gyeon-woo before she could get any actual answers on how to help him. Was she supposed to not meet Gyeon-woo/get answers just to coddle his feelings? It was seeing that he could never actually be accepted by her as Gyeon-woo that set him off on his rampage. But that is a reality he needs to accept to truly “grow up”, become an adult, learn to truly love by letting go, while receiving the consolation she can give instead of demanding what she cannot. She actually has plenty of compassion towards him, but he needs to stop setting himself up for disappointment by expecting more than she can give. Right now, him forcing his feelings, imo, is making it hard for her to know how to navigate helping him without making things worse.

Hey yalll.. episode 8 during hand hold montage what's the OST? can't find the song anywhere.
It’s an OST by Cheeze that hasn’t been released yet, I believe. Hoping they’ll release it next week before the other ballad on the OST.

As far as I’m concerned, this drama isn’t over until I’ve heard the full version of Eclipse’s Star ost. Plan to live in denial until then.

I feel like you can only read timed comments if you know Korean. 😆 I tried once but I kept having to rewind…
@Eleison Oh totally, typically I watch the episodes on my Roku app first without comments. Then I will do another watch through with them on before there are too many for me to follow. After that, when rewatching, I just turn them on during certain moments when I know the comments will be fun and there are just a lot of those in this drama, like ep 4 during the scene with the matchmaking mosquito, the comments are hilarious.

I saw...thinking the first time i watched k drama was when coffee prince was the top drama aired then... YEH unfortunarely…
@Naturallykdrama I don’t think it really had to do with her acting. She was great, imo. She didn’t pick the best scripts post-Coffee Prince though and then she had a scandal with her clothing line, which just sort of ended her career. I’ve been bummed that she hasn’t been able to make a comeback in the industry when some actors get a slap on the wrist for far less but it is what it is.

I’m glad to hear LR ended up bringing TVING so much streaming success by not being on Netflix. I know many are disappointed this didn’t get the Netflix treatment for wider global access and success and I know this sadly doesn’t affect those who don’t have it, but I can’t help it, I love that Viki got LR because the timed comments are so much fun on dramas like this, not to mention, while some are like time capsules that take you back to when it first aired, some are from new people watching it for the first time. I know this is going to elevate all the rewatches I have of this show as I deal with withdrawels. Also the lyrics of the OST are so intentional and satisfying for this drama that I really enjoy having them subbed throughout.

I’ve already blocked those people so can’t see their posts. I don’t mind that people don’t like the drama…
Thank you for letting me know I could block them. I’m a lurker but they are making the comment section so unpleasant and honestly giving me more second-hand embarrassment than Sol & Sunjae combined at this point. Like there is a distinction between constructive criticism for the show itself and the insane, obsessive anti-fan behaviour they’re displaying here. Perhaps the fan they are targeting truly was out of line at one point but with the way this comment section moves no one is going to care enough to go over all the past drama between them to see who is right. All I know is who is currently acting like a toddler, then acting like all their actions are justified and even worse like they are doing some essential service to the MDL community instead of seeing themselves for the bullies they are. Like just because of one fan they’re punishing everyone here?! Real mature.

Now I can block them for my neighbor’s teenager daughter I help tutor who is enjoying this show so that the comment section can be safe for her. Yes, actual teenagers frequent this place, people, so try and set by example instead of using another’s supposedly childish behavior to justify your own petty behaviour.

I saw that there were stills of a deleted scene of Sun-jae recomposing Sonaki in ep 15 and am just wondering if they ever posted it anywhere. Wish they had kept it in since I had been looking forward to that happening and it just feels like an important scene to cut out.

OMG THAT WAS ME THAT ASKED, THANK YOU! I tried my best to research and could not find a drama that listed it as…
Glad this was able to reach you! I know I didn’t really help all that much. Hopefully someone else will figure it out otherwise yes we will probably have to rewatch a lot to find where we first heard it. It was probably just featured in a single scene like in this drama.

Which song was it?
“Loveholic” by Loveholic (it played during ep 2 bus scene)

Someone asked about the song “Loveholic” and whether it played in another drama before. Due to the sheer magnitude of comments I’d have to sift through here, I’m not even attempting to find it now lol.

Anyway, I’m pretty sure the song was featured in a drama from years back but I can’t place it. I’m also curious. But when looking it up a few weeks ago, I noticed Day6 just covered it this March so definitely think it was popular and now considered a classic song.

Loveholic/Loveholics were a pretty well-known alt pop-rock group especially active during 2005-2009 and their songs (not just their official OSTs) were featured in a lot of dramas (like Coffee Prince) from that time up until about 2012 so I thought featuring a song from them in ep 2 was such a wonderfully nostalgic choice for this show.

Honestly, i dont even feel bad for whatever that seungah did in today's episode. Im so glad she exposed everything…
OK sure and let’s just exclude the fact that Seung-ah, in the first place, got her position through nepotism before making an impact on the company while Ji-han has made his own way, only just getting revealed as family by his Grandpa now that Yoon Chae-won has shown interest in him, despite him having worked hard in his own right for years to get to his position.

All that said, I don’t actually hate Seung-ah and think her actions make sense given her grandfather’s poor way of handling things and her father’s poor example. I rather pity her because she fixates so much on blaming others for her mom and then the company getting taken from her, only to get the worse punishment in realizing it is the last person “on her side” that is to blame for her mother’s death.

Honestly, people are going around blaming Ji-han, Ah-jeong, Seung-ah, or Do-han, when really all of them have sympathetic reasons for acting the way they do. The real villiain in all this is officially the grandpa for me, even if they reveal that Seung-ah’s dad caused the accident. He’s done such a horrible job at guiding them on the right path, but then has the audacity to have criticism for their choices while never rectifying or taking responsibility for his own.

gotta reiterate that this character is absolutely not made for bae inhyuk because he just looks very extra doing…
Couldn’t disagree more. Ep 2-4 he wasn’t given enough to work with, but, as soon as they give him the material, like in ep 1 & 5-8, he really shines for me. I find him actually elevating his character/scenes because he’s so natural and varied with his expressions, without being over-the-top.

Imma be shallow for a hot second and get it out my system lol but I've been following Bae In-hyuk's for awhile…
I also find his voice adorable for the same reasons. Especially when he was in his sageuk-mode. I’m patiently waiting for him to have a lead role in a full-length sageuk drama now.

as much as i love bae inhyuk (i've been this man's #1 supporter since last 2 years), his performance in this is…
I actually thought he did an amazing job in the 1st ep of drawing me into his original past character with only limited time to do so. He has this certain vulnerability to his expressions that just really grabs me immediately.

I do think he is struggling a bit in the modern CEO scenes because he doesn’t fit that aesthetic as much, but I’m giving him time. It helps that I love his past version so much already and can’t wait for him “remember” or at least begin to show more similarities to him.

Just feel the need to confess my sins here after slowly savoring ep 8. While Rembrary insisted “healthy and wholesome” is his ideal romantic relationship, when he asked Dal what he could do with her if he stayed, my thoughts were far from pure. I’d seek forgiveness, but Kim Min-kyu’s delivery of the line is clearly fully to blame. He’s not even my type, but something about his normally perfectly virtuous priest unable to resist flirting back with an adorably pouty Black Magic-influenced Dal just did things to me. Like Dal, I’m suddenly very curious about his experiences pre-Pontifex.

While I’m on the topic, I really applaud how consistant KMK’s speech pattern/facial expressions are as Rembrary, whether he’s getting up to his hilarious antics or turning on his more serious, caring, and romantic modes. Just makes watching his character a much more fun and captivating experience. He’s shaping up to be my most memorable character of the year so far. I liked Kim Min-kyu well enough before, but, after this role, he’s officially made me a fan.

Also couldn’t be happier to have Go Bo-gyeol opposite him. I’ve waited for both to get leading roles for ages now and they are so sweet together.
