I agree with you. I also LOVED this couple the most! I would love a whole series with just them. Also, where can…
I'm waiting to buy the official translation from Meb. But I'm sure someone can direct you to read the book for free :)

The reason why Arthit and Dao still my most favourite couple of this universe is because they are complete strangers,…
Forgot to say that this will be my last series from this universe. Sadly, I'm not interested in the last couple, Tiger and Nao, at all. So with Arthit and Dao, I will take my leave. Fourever You universe, thank you for giving me joy.

The reason why Arthit and Dao still my most favourite couple of this universe is because they are complete strangers, who meet by chance, and fall in love after healing each other. They have no past connection, no past love, they're both really just strangers who happened to meet because of their friend's circle. Maybe that's why, in this universe, they're the couple that connect with me the most.

Their story is also the most touching. It's not "love at first sight" cliche, or "I love you because you help me" kind of trope. Arthit and Dao fall in love with each other in the most natural way. They get to know each other, good and bad, and decided that they would take this relationship to the next level. That's also why their story feels the most genuine.

While others might think that it's too slow burn, or plot didn't move along at all, that's because many had been conditioned to think that relationship should come in a flash. But Arthit and Dao told us that relationship could be built day-by-day, through their interaction, through learning more about each other, and through their own experience. Both have their own problems; Arthit with not being able to accept the loss of his mother, and Dao with his ability to see what others can't see (which lead to his bad first relationship). And throughout the story, they learn to love themselves and then learn to love each other. Their love was never sudden, it was there, building step-by-step without them realizing it.

Despite what others said, their story remains to be my favourite. I enjoy every second, and I wish I could see their love story more.

Plot: 7.5/10
Acting: 7/5/10 - Very natural from both the leads. I'm surprised they can convince me, especially Arthit, that they're the characters they're playing. It could be due to the building from the first episode and that it's a universe, so it feels whole. None of the casts disappoint me greatly.
Music: 6/10 - Could be better
Rewatchable: 7/10 - Could rewatch some points because Arthit and Dao together is just fire

Title Love beyond the Grave Spoiler
Maybe I didn't fully grasp how the spirit born from obsession worked but... Why everyone never - not once - think…
It has always been explained since the beginning.

Point of case is Yan Ke. When he was alive, he tried to rebel 5 times only to end up in failure and getting his limbs tore apart by horses. That's the obsession that he can't get rid of, which is why he turned to evil spirit.

Again with Chenying. He was a lonely boy who only have 2 people in his life he loves so much: Duan Xu and He Simu. During the time he died, Duan Xu and He Simu got separated. He wanted to fulfill the promise for them to meet again, and that's why he died while carrying this obsession.

This is the same with Jiang Ai. She wanted money, so her one and only obsession until the day she died is to get more money. That's why she becomes the richest person in Yuzhou.

It's different for Duan Xu. His obsession while he was alive is to unite the 17 provinces so there will be no longer children who will get abducted like him to be the killing machine. Again, his obsession in life was never He Simu.

Yes he is willing to give up his life and his senses for He Simu, and he said it at the end when Feng Yi asked him why he risked his own life for this. Duan Xu said it's that he wanted He Simu to be happy. While he might be just another grave for her but at least his existence is unique due to the connection that he has with Simu. Again and again, he never mentioned that he wanted to be evil spirit and follow He Simu forever. He knew his own lifespan and he accepted it, which was mentioned several times throughout the drama. Duan Xu said it himself: he is willing to exchange the senses because he never thought of wanting to live forever or a long life. That's why everyone knows that Duan Xu will never be evil spirit.

Remember that the main reason they become evil spirit because they have something unresolved in their life.

Duan Xu had achieved what he wanted the moment the 17 provinces back to Da Liang. He no longer has regrets

Maybe I didn't fully grasp how the spirit born from obsession worked but... Why everyone never - not once - think…
Duan Xu's obsession has always been to free the 17 provinces from the North Chong people. He had done that, so he had no regret or obsession left.

He loves He Simu with all his heart, but he always said that he wanted her to be happy. He wanted her to remember him for at least 100 year and willing to be the 23rd grave. This means that his love is not an obsession for him.

Chenying is different because his obsession is to "protect" Duan Xu and He Simu, which he can't do due to his early death.

Duan Xu's case is the same as Fang Xianye. Fang Xianye's obsession has never been power. He wanted to realize the dream of peace that Duan Xu imagined. When he died, he knew that Duan Xu would power through and finish what they started, which is why he can pass without worry.

I also love ThitDao the most! Their story is the most fleshed out compared to the other couple. FahPhoon is close,…
Because it feels like they're stuck in that happy timeline in their childhood, when everything is (not sunshine and rainbow, but at least) happy. They're reconnecting, which is the main theme of Fah and Phoon's love story. It went on throughout the entire plot, with Fah and Phoon reconnecting, finally found love in each other, Phoon finding connection and solace in the people who love him, and last, from his mother. That's why the first heartbreaking part is needed, and those two showed amazing performance during that part, which is exactly what I wanted from them. After that it's all just fluffy for them, which is good haha

But Thit Dao is different because they really are just strangers who happened to meet because of certain circumstances: their friends are friends with each other, and they choose the same apartment, partly because both of them have strong resistance towards ghost. They have such thin connection, and yet they make that romance happen. Their gradual trust for each other is what I love the most from them.

To be honest, Johan North story is the most basic and the most cliche BL plot ever in any BL land. It's like checking all the marks.
1. Past connection? check
2. Love at first sight? check
3. Tsundere seme? check
4. Highly pampering seme? check

It's like the author knew what BL readers would like and they check all the mark in passing colour. Not that it's bad though, I still like reading this type of BL novel all the time, but it's just the same as other BL novels. What makes it different in the drama is the chemistry of both actors, which make the character endearing.

ThitDaoJoNorthFahPhoonHillTerIn that specific order. I adore all of them but ThitDao had me smiling stupid all…
I also love ThitDao the most! Their story is the most fleshed out compared to the other couple. FahPhoon is close, but the first part of their story is just too sad, it hinders their ability to build that connection. That's why when Fah fell for Phoon, it feels too sudden. But the heartbreak is so real though.

ThitDao is always fun. They have no past connection. Them just being them is what makes their love story resonates with me the most. They build that connection through thin layer, and yet they're able to expand it into a full blown romance. I love them so much!

currently on episode 8. the drama is visually stunning and somewhat interesting but I cannot go over the fact…
It's the case of "you never know what you have until you lost it"

Remember, He Simu is born between mortal and Ghost King. Her mortal mother and her mortal family, which is Feng Yi's ancestor, keep teaching her how to be human. She longed to be human, not to be immortal.

For some people, having 5 senses nothing to care about. But for someone like her, who had longed for it for 400 years, it's something big. And you always yearn for things you can't have. Isn't that what life is?

My most anticipated scene, the wedding! If there's express I'll buy that because I really love that scene (and the scene that comes after, though I'm sure it's not going to be included)

Can't wait for tomorrow!

Zhang Linghe needs to call Chen Feiyu for some acting lessons as well. All your fav got is face yet y’all fans…
I'm just saying that a good actor is not determined by their face only

No matter how handsome his look, if he is not a good actor then he is not a good actor.

I don't call Zhang Linghe a bad actor, but he is by no means an amazing actor as well. It's good to know what you lack to improve.

If Chen Feiyu need to learn how to smile, then Zhang Linghe can also learn how to act. That's not a big deal

I'm so happy to hear this! It's so good. I usually don't like the fantasy type drama because it gets ridiculous…
So true. I'm tired of Xianxia. My mom likes Xianxia though. She really loves those Gods and immortals -.-

It kinda forgot about Xuanhuan genre for a bit. I don't usually watch fantasy-type drama, but this one I really like I don't know why. Even reading the novel is such a good experience to me, when usually I would skip it.

Thanks for reminding me this is Xuanhuan. I dunno why I forgot that genre exist lol

Never have a seen such a beautiful rejection and raw honesty. ❤️🤌🏻 My heart goes to He Simu and Duan…
and I'm so happy to see that He Simu is not the type who "I stay alone before meeting you" type. Like, it's understandable she will have flings here and there, after all she's 400 years old.

And I actually laugh out loud reading your comment lol
Graveyard of 22 ex lovers sound so funny lol

I'm so happy to hear this! It's so good. I usually don't like the fantasy type drama because it gets ridiculous most of the time, but this drama has a good balance between human-fantasy realm that makes it so endearing and believable.

I hope other Xianxia genre in the future could be like this. It's more grounded and the character feels alive.

Remember everyone, it's totally okay to not like the drama. It's all about preferences. You might like other type of dramas and other type of pairings, so it's never your problem.

I'm enjoying it because I really love Arthit Dao pairing. They're my most fave couple in the entire story. Their story will be the last one that I watch because I don't like Tiger Nao (I prefer Nao's twin story better), and so far I'm enjoying it so much. The human-ghost couple is done so well because their story is the one that propel the progress of the two leads relationship further.

It feels sad that their story is cut down to only 8 episodes, because it feels like their story is the most slow-burn compared to the others.
