On Love Me, Love My Voice Dec 18, 2023
As I've said in the beginning, Tan Jianci is not my first pick to be Mo Qingcheng. When I first watched the drama, I was so disappointed because he is not the Mo Qingcheng in my imagination. But now that I'm at the end of the drama, I truly appreciate him. He can sing, his acting is very good, and now I feel he is the perfect fit for Mo Qingcheng.

Plot: 6.5/10
There's really nothing happening in the drama. This is the epitome of slice-of-life, where life is happy and vibrant. This feels more like our daily life. It feels so true and so relaxed, it makes me feel like I'm watching my neighbour falling in love and I'm there to witness it. There's no particular obstacle in their relationship, but this is also the normal life of normal couple. Most people are so used to toxic people around the leads, whether it's toxic second leads, toxic parents, toxic aunts, and so on, that they forgot real life is this relaxed. There's almost nothing dramatic in real life. Of course there are people who live dramatic life, but the majority of the people lead a very mundane life.

There are some parts that are changed from the novel but it's not too significant. I think the marriage and Mo Qingcheng posted it in his weibo should have been the perfect ending, but I was given another ending that's actually quite good and decent. There's nothing drastic changes and it fits the entire vibe of the drama, so I rated it higher.

Characters: 10/10
If I have to say, the characters are what made the drama. They're all good people. Gu Sheng might be shy, but once she is used to the relationship between her and Mo Qingcheng, she takes the active role several times. Showed that she's not your usual naive female lead in many dramas.

The supporting characters also get a lot of love. This includes the somewhat second pairing in the show, Zhou Zheng and Geng Xiaoxing. I'm glad to see the expansion of their love story since the novel never really mentioned it. I love that we get to see the different interaction between the VAs in the entire drama. It's so wholesome I'm loving it.

Music: 9/10
Personally, I really love the music. All the music they used in the drama actually really really good. The ancient style song felt so majestic, I love it so much. I wished more dramas take this example and use ancient style instead of the modern pop style that's just too western. The pop ancient style actually really good and has richer tone as well.

Overall: 6.5/10
I would say it's a very good drama. It's good for the people who don't expect anything, like not expecting drama or something major that will happen. It's a feel good story. I would rewatch it anytime. Especially now that my dad is interested in the story, so I'm actually rewatching it once again with him. It's a story that you could enjoy without being afraid that there will be something bad happened to the leads.

-first of all, it's a youth xianxia, not every1 cup of tea. But also it is cute, relaxing, fast paced, funny and…
I'm not a fan of Xianxia but my mom is watching it so I'm forced to watch it somehow.

Not hating any of the characters but Xianxia story is mostly the same. God, fairy, or whatever immortal beings. They always wear this pastel colours clothes. I love pastel colours since it's my colours, but I guess I'm tired of seeing this type of look since Journey of Flowers back then.

So I can relate with the first reason, but not the rest. I think Zhao Lusi is a cute girl, and her acting is good. I'm actually surprised to see Wang Anyu there, which is also one of the little reasons I'm even able to continue watching this with my mom.

Reply your last sentence: Yeah no one stop you to like the Japanese adaptation more, but it still has nothing…
Just remember: different culture means different interpretation. It's a Japanese manga with Japanese culture at the core, so if they adapted it just like that without changing anything to the overall core of the story, then it will be even more awkward. I'm not saying this drama is great, but I think what the characters do much more in-line with how a Thailand people will do. The keyword is "adaptation" so it doesn't have to be the same or have the same feel. As every adaptation has its own brand and its own identity.

For example: If the two characters in the Japanese adaptation played the Thai novel adaptation, it will be awkward as hell. Because the culture in Thai is definitely different than the culture in Japan.

What kind of proposal is included in the novel? Thank you.
No problem.
I really really love the novel proposal. It's just too romantic. He did everything for her even though he don't have to do that. Tang Xin don't even ask him to do that. That showed just how much he love and treasure Tang Xin.

The drama proposal is meh to me. That's nothing compared to the actual proposal in the novel.

You can read my comment on the proposal below.

What kind of proposal is included in the novel? Thank you.
The proposal in the novel is very romantic. It started with firework that they saw, which is also included in the drama. But in the novel, it's not from Tang Yu. Someone proposed using firework, and Tang Xin just casually mentioned it that she likes this kind of proposal. But she said to Tang Yu not to just copy paste it. He needs to be original. So for the next month, whenever Tang Xin saw something in magazine or in video about marriage proposal, she will inform Tang Yu about it. In her mind, she wanted Tang Yu to choose one of them and do it for her.

In the end, Tang Yu did every marriage proposal that she wanted, and filming it with Lu Zhixing for 2 months. He filmed bungee jumping marriage proposal, firework proposal, and everything that Tang Xin had mentioned to him before. It's not mentioned how many she sent to Tang Yu, but let's say she sent 10 proposals, then Tang Yu did them all. He went to the location and filmed it with Lu Zhixing only for 2 months, and no one else knows. I guess the assistant knows. He even got Lu Zhixing to sign NDA. He made them into a short movie around 5 minutes (I assume it's a whole lot of proposals that he did), and it was played during Tang Xin's movie premier. It's made as easter egg. He proposed to Tang Xin after that video.

It's a grand marriage proposal that showed Tang Yu's love to Tang Xin. Tang Xin said that Tang Yu love her less and this gesture prove it to her that he did lover her a lot. He was so busy and still find the time to go to each location where the marriage proposal that Tang Xin like to film the proposal for her, one by one. That's why I wished even with green screen I'll accept that and I'm hopeful when he asked Lu Zhixing to film it in episode 23. Sadly, the film turn out to be him losing his ring. That was so bad and anti-climatic.

My biggest complaint: THEY CHANGE THE WEDDING PROPOSAL

This needs to be highlighted. While what Tang Yu's did very romantic, but where's the proposal from the novel. The reason why I even say about it because it's one of the most romantic wedding proposal ever written in any novel. I wish they really adapt it to the drama, but I guess there's no budget for that. I mean, even with a green screen, I'll be happy. But no, they choose to scrap it. Well, the balloon proposal scene also green screen anyway, so there's no excuse why they couldn't do the "proposal" from the novel.

Score
Plot: 6/10
While it's not bad, but it's also not that new and exciting. The best part is when Tang Xin takes the chance to confess and got rejected, and it's Tang Yu's time to put the effort to win her back. This concept is good, but it's dragged on for far too long. Episode 18 will be my most favorite from the whole show. That scene showed the capability of the two leads as actors. That single moment actually better than any other scenes in the entire drama.

The reason why I also give it score 6 because of the pacing. I feel like in one part, it moves so fast I can barely keep up. But there's a part where it's so sluggish and so slow I feel sleepy staring at my screen. I feel like they need to cut down a lot of parts in order to keep it to 24 episodes, while the original is longer than that. This caused some weird editing and weird pacing that I felt the entire drama.

Character: 6.5/10
I love a lot of characters in this drama individually. There are times when they're together, I feel like it's too awkward. But overall, the characters are written properly.

Music: 6/10
I love the opening!

Overall: 6/10
This is actually a very decent drama. It's an easy watch for those who like contemporary drama genre.

She did so so well tho for this drama, it wasn’t just ML carrying it. Even in weibo china, cnetz who are stingy…
Same. That's also what I said everytime I saw him in a new drama. "This type of character again?"
It feels like his management didn't want to risk his career and put him in the same type of character again and again. Thankfully, this one works well for him.

I agree on this. I don't hate Wei Zheming, but he's just your standard cookie cutter actor before. Even during what's considered as his best performance (though I don't think so) during Perfect and Casual. But I do love him as Tang Yu. He embodied Tang Yu, especially for us who had read the novel, we can feel that even more strongly on his performance. But to me, Huang Riying showed an amazing performance as Tang Xin, and she's exceptional as this character. I love her so much.
Replying to guinearoyal Dec 6, 2023
So now on ep 16 and I am LOVING our ML, he is really carrying the show with his performance here. The FML though….…
I think that the female lead did much better than Wei Zheming in terms of acting. Though this could be the best acting in Wei Zheming's career. He did really well as Tang Yu, but the female lead Huang Riying who played Tang Xin, is amazing in micro-expression. She can just be teary-eyed and you can see a lot of emotions in her eyes. During the scene in the lift, you can see her eyes showed so many emotions at once: confusion, anger, longing, love.

Episode 17 also showed an amazing performance of Huang Riying. Tang Xin had an amazing emotion showing through her expression when Tang Yu found out about her secret. I cried so much just looking at her expression. She can show the inner thoughts of Tang Xin just through her eyes alone. I think that's a sign of an amazing actress.

I agree because I can actually understand TX’s pov. She has been liking him for so long and when he suddenly…
This is what makes me really like the book. I think her response is really true to her personality. She did say to herself after being rejected by Tang Yu: "I'll love myself more." So it's understandable she is not going to accept Tang Yu right away just because he passionately pursue her.

True! Episode 17 is like the best part of the show so far.

I think that "we're not suitable" is just too hurtful. I mean, it hurts more than just saying "I don't like you."

Yes, in the novel she did think about that. Though people mostly think about it wrongly since they can't hear her thoughts. But even then I think that the drama team did well in expressing her thoughts verbally. I mean, who wouldn't say that when the guy clearly rejected her? I would even do more drastic thing than her, saying that I just wanted the body. At least I can save some pride for myself that way.

Mmm... very curious does situations like this happen in reality in china. I know dramas are fictional, but stories…
This truly happened. Especially in China. You can ruin someone's reputation with just one post in Weibo.

There are many instances where customers asked for refund and when the staff refused, they got hit because of it.
On I May Love You Dec 5, 2023
Tang Xin's confession of her feelings to Tang Yu is written in that online diary. It recorded her crush for 4 years to Tang Yu. That's why she's so reluctant to accept his confession. She loved him, and she felt like she loved him more than he did. Though love can't be determined based on time, but after harboring secret crush for 4 years, having to help him to win her own best friend, and then being rejected due to "not suitable." I can understand Tang Xin's pain and reluctance to start relationship with Tang Yu. What if it's just a whim? What after they got together he realized she's not the one he wanted? After all, his past girlfriends record showed that his preference for women differ a lot from her.

Those who said Tang Xin is ruthless and stupid for not believing in Tang Yu should also put yourself in her position. Would you readily agree to the confession of a man who just rejected you? And so cruelly? It's not even "I don't like you" but his response is "We're not suitable." Which is more hurtful than just being told "Let's just be friends."

This is the episode that I've been waiting for. This is my fave part in the novel and I could say the same for the drama as well. This is the time they need to open their heart to each other and do the heart-to-heart talk.
On Love Me, Love My Voice Dec 4, 2023
For those who had never dabbled themselves in CN dubbing industry, it's a good way to understand how dubbing works in China. It's similar to Japanese dubbing system, in which the VA (voice actor) considered as idol. Most of the time, they don't really come out in the media or show their photo, so the fans truly like their voices only.

Most of the VA, whether CN or JP, has the ability to sing. I'm happy that they showed how to use YY because most of the times, not everyone understand this.

I hope this drama really got a good response because I really believe that VA world, especially in Asia, is really flourishing right now. And I'm sure some of the VA who sings in episode 9 of this drama really the famous VA. I feel like I've heard their voices before. But it's understandable, not everyone can sing the Chinese Ancient song style that easily and effortlessly.

I think this might be my favorite Korean drama of the year. The reason is also because of Chae Jeong Hyeop. I really love his acting.

Plot: 6/10
Nothing very outrageous or creative included in the drama. It was simple drama with simple message, to continue live on no matter how hard life could be. Mok Ha able to survive in the island for 15 years in the deserted island due to this as well. To me, there are times when it was too draggy, even for a slice of life, and I wish I could just skip some parts. But most of the time, I do enjoy the drama quite a lot.

Character: 8/10
I rate this high because of the good characterisation in the drama. From Mok Ha, Dad Lee, and then our Ki Ho. Mok Ha is a girl with sunny disposition and not giving up attitude, but her attitude is not because of her naivety because she understands how the world works, it's just that she's able to retain that pureness after being deserted for 15 years. She did say that she felt frustration and even wanting to die at some point, which is understandable, as that's very humane.

Dad Lee is one of the greatest dad that a family would want. He did a lot to protect his family members and I really applauded him for that.

Ki Ho might be one of the most misunderstood character in the early episodes of the drama. But he did everything by considering the advantage and disadvantage, as always. That's him and he will never change. Even when we first introduced to the two brothers, I know immediately which one is Ki Ho, because it's just too obvious. I'm not sure how people can mistake the other brother as Ki Ho.

Talking about the other brother, I think that Woo Hak is the character I like the least from our main character, aside from the abusive Dad. Woo Hak is the character that people would pity because he's so proactive towards the female lead Mok Ha, giving her everything in great fanfare, but to me, it doesn't feel as authentic as what Ki Ho did. Woo Hak always thinks of himself first, which is actually quite humane, but compared to the other characters that are selfless, he might be my least favorite.

Music: 10/10
The music is the biggest winner of the show. That's the only thing that I can say.

Overall: 6/10
To me, this is still just another romance drama. But there are times when I shed tears, especially during episode 11, when Ran Joo doing the voice over that when people failed the first thing they would do is to blame others for their misfortunes. I remember crying at that time because it's just so true and so humane. That's what I love from this drama the most.

exactly, at first I was a bit skeptical. But now he is portraying the gentleness so well, I am satisfied.
Me too! I really can't see him as my beloved Toupai at first, but I gradually accepted it and now I think no one else can do the role beside him. He's just that perfect in portraying Mo Qingcheng.
