it's a bit silly but the couple is cute.. but probably forgettable..

instead of an in-depth review, I will just share some thoughts I had before and after watching this drama.

(my rating system: 7 - alright, but probably forgettable)

THOUGHTS:
- it's a bit silly but the couple is cute, I can feel their chemistry (however, later on during their kiss scenes I couldn't really..)
- nice OST, but does sound like it could be from a sound library
- romance is a bit fast paced
- how sharp are their teeth? (lol, I have this thought whenever they bite their finger to write something with their blood, or bite someone's lip..)
- the second male lead's acting is so so.. especially during more dramatic scenes
- I binged eps 4-18 on sep 30-1 oct and then had to wait till the 6th oct for the rest to be available
- I only care about the main romance plot at this point (ep 17) at the end of this ep I watched the second male lead's scenes on 2x and this ep is only about 13 minutes long!
- in ep 9 and 18 she protects him in the same way, the plots mirrors itself
- the second male lead (crown prince) is a real sleeze throughout most of the 35th life (and it was even odd how he suddenly switched to liking her in the 34th) but they redeemed him in the end with tingting so all is well.. i guess.... ?? it felt like they had to pair everyone up for a happy ending, although I was thinking they should get together so good for them I guess..
- closing thoughts: it was OKAY.. I didn't get the urge to edit it or anything
- more kissing than romance
- and some random fantasy elements that weren't really fleshed out in the end (concerning fuyang's father)
- since I watched it in a week, I wonder if the plot tells one cohesive story or not.. I honestly have forgotten some of the plot already T_T

ACTING:
this was my first time watching this female lead actress and I liked her
back in my early cdrama watching days, I watched the male lead actor in fake princess and remember liking that drama (this was probably in 2021 or 2022 so my rating has changed in hindsight)
the main lead couple's acting was good and like I said, they do have some chemistry together.

OVERALL it is a fairly short drama so I would say it is worth a watch if you want a fast paced period idol romance, however don't expect much depth. I find I actually much prefer these short dramas over long ones, at least for this genre, because hey, who doesn't like when the conflict resolves itself in under 10 minutes?

I'm not likely to rewatch it
