I liked the drama more than I was expecting too, I mean the slow-burn was fire and the leads had great chemistry. I wonder why this isn't more popular.
It's very watchable and hooks you in but a huge flaw about this drama is the inconsistency of characters. Spoilers…
The brother in law loses most of his intimidation and motivation. Sister in law's death was very sudden and honestly her feelings were all over the place. The FL's mother passing away was totally unnecessary and didn't add much to the story? I guess I'm just not used to melodramas. Also, the ML looking bat shit drunk whenever he was sad actually made emotional scenes funny. He's a great actor in Kingdom though.
I SO SO loved the chemistry between the leads, angst, comedy, truly one of the best. Nothing beats the charm of old dramas. Besides, I wouldn't even call the second ml an sml. He's straight up a villain and creep.
Saw him in Quartet, Heaven and hell and Nagi's vacation. Genuinely think he's a wonderful actor, and he's super attractive in a very unique way? Does he have any romantic roles?
For anyone wondering why wakaba does that in the last episode, check the comment below.
This is what I think. She quits her job because, it's constantly emphasised in the drama that all corporate lawyers care about is money, and that's what she initially values too. In the end, she basically decides to help smaller people and businesses who's livelihood depends on a case rather than bigger corporations. She doesn't lower herself for him like others are saying, she actually finds deeper meaning to her work.
I always enjoyed the webtoon for how light it is and its art. But I felt the characters were a bit shallow or not well developed. Currently Joo Gyung's character has almost next to no development. But contrary to how it generally is, I think the drama is digging through the layers of characters WAY more especially Seojun (although, he is being given second treatment). I really appreciate their focus on supporting characters every once in a while. I'm getting attached to these characters and for me that's a sign of them being handled the right way.
I agree with the comment below mine, Eun Woo although looks the part perfectly doesn't carry out Suho well enough. He does make your heart flutter tho (◡‿◡✿)
It is so unique and a really good watch, but unfortunately right in the middle of the series I saw Kang Ji Hwan's sexual assault (which he admitted to as well and that means they're true) and now I don't think I can continue it. Not discouraging anyone, just that I find it hard to watch and can't separate the art from the artist.
I don't understand why people are hating o this because of the betrayal, are you saying that people should just be with each other regardless of what they feel? Its worse, for EVERYONE. I wouldn't like my partner to be with me while realising their love for someone else, no thanks. I'd rather hear the truth and move on.
As for the drama it got kinda draggy and cliched at times, but was an overall fun watch. Like someone mentioned, the chemistry could be better and the scenes too. There should have been more interaction between the leads.
It was a very cute drama and Nagisa-san is SO adorable but I feel like they kind of downplayed the age difference? Not for themselves but why did no one in their life question it, not even her parents. Its so difficult to imagine parents who'd not even question this once.
Dropped it at 11th episode. How could the female lead be okay with risking her life when there wasn't enough romantic development? This show was trying to be a lot of things-Supernatural mystery, Poor man rich woman romcom, power politics and it failed at all. Everyone other than FL seemed like props to the story which itself wasn't great. The side characters weren't given enough space to grow and have their own subplots. A mess.
Bad things aside, I actually thought it was entertaining at times, jus that it got too illogical for me to continue.
The drama was very captivating for the first 20 episodes and it went straight downhill after that. The writing became sloppy, lot of plot convenience (A lot of times it made me wonder, what all can this robot even do). Nam shin III kisses the female lead idk for what reason, he cant feel right?? But that aside, really appreciate Seo Kang Joon's acting and others were also good enough. Loved David.
