I really loved WYWS (personally found it more and more interesting with each new case), but like you I dropped Chicago Typewriter for the same reasons... except I dropped it at episode 1 lol. There was just something about these two leads that made me go "nope" right from the start. The rest I haven't tried, and don't really have an interest in.
It was fitting. Shin Ae lost her way with her ambition and became evil. She was a product of the environment.…
The couple was never completely on the same page. Shin Ae showed time and time again that she would always side with her 'blood' against her husband, even at her own cost. They played the happy couple, but their loyalties and ambitions never were with each other, and we see this as early as in the teenage arc. The will was merely the catalyst that forced them to show their true colors, and that's probably exactly why Dol Mok and the old fox changed it that way. It was pretty effective at dividing their enemies.
Okay, I'm HIGHLY disappointed that the WRONG sister got thrown in jail. Shin Ae was absolutely NOT as bad as Mi…
Honestly I prefer it this way. Mi Ae was always looking down on people and thinking herself so special and above everyone else, it's a much more fitting punishment for her to end up penniless and working for Seon Jin (who seems to have a lot of fun bossing her around). And Shin Ae was just as bad as her sister, she just hid it better.
As always, So Joo continues to save the day. I'm so happy team Sanwoonyul got to save Dol Mok's mom. That was awesome cooperation on their part. Nothing can stop them when they work together.
