I feel the opposite. The main leads in the Korean version barely had any chemistry so I didn’t care much for their love story, but I thought that the japanese version had so much chemistry and tension between them. Funny how different it can be.

In what way was it ruined? I liked the ending.

I mean it does kind of make sense to me that you can’t decide who takes your fate and that it can be random. She thought that she could make Reina take over her fate, but that’s not something she can control or decide. The only thing that is guaranteed is that what will happen will happen no matter what. If she avoids her fate it will fall upon someone else, it doesn’t really make sense that she could decide on who or control fate like that.

Maybe it’s because if he doesn’t put emotional distance as well as physical distance he’s afraid his fate might fall to her and she’ll die? But I’m not sure

My theory is that he’s worried about his death (the car crash in his first life). She told him that Sumiyoshi got her cancer because they got close to each other, so maybe he’s distancing himself so that she doesn’t die instead of him. Someone has to take his fate after all.

Ngl I want her with the spirit

The Korean version was good in the first half and fell flat during the second half. It felt so bland. I also feel like the Korean version dragged while also overdramatising everything.

I’m so scared about the ending. I feel like this genre almost never get satisfying endings in chinese dramas.

I loved the scene when he’s hiding in the female leads room to get away from her sister 😂

I feel like it had the formula to be great, I love the story and the actors, yet it still feels bland and like something is missing. Also the plot arc right now contains a trope that I generally can’t stand in dramas unless it’s very well done.

The Princess Gambit is okay but nothing more. It tries to be serious and had all the foundations to be great but it just feels kind of bland most of the time. It also has annoying tropes after half the drama. I enjoy A Dream Within a Dream slightly more at the moment.
