I LOVED how in the end the Male Lead wasn't cured. He realized his anger stems from himself. She is not going…
I can't stand dramas about mental health issues where it magically disappears at the end all thanks to the other partner. Unless your issues are with relationships a relationship can't heal you (but it can support you on your journey).
Add me to the anti-Tunnel club. The ML makes the difference. Choi Jin Hyuk is hot, but he can't act. And once…
I'm not anti Tunnel though. I liked the characters and storyline, the acting could've been better as you said. I just think that a lot was poorly executed in Tunnel, especially the police work.
The back up policemen that we see disappeare out of nowhere amd the only people left are the main characters and the suspect gets away, then the second after a literal army of policemen are covering the whole alley and are knocking on all the doors. They pretty much never uses gloves at all and never treats the crime scenes carefully. In one scene I'm very convinced the bad guy has lipstick in his face that is supposed to look like blood.
It's a crime drama so all of those things just kind of kills the suspense because it doesn't feel like a thriller anymore.
I adored this drama. I know some people complained about the pacing being too slow, but for me it was perfect.…
I agree, I enjoy watching the characters fall in love rather than it all being done and over with by episode 5. Letting it take time makes the rest of the 30+ episodes so much more interesting, less draggy and the romance feels more real.
A good exciting movie that tried a bit too hard, sometimes less is more, I liked the ending though. The acting was good but could've been better. The music was awesome.
Honestly a brilliant drama. Sometimes predictable, but it didn't take away from the story or suspension. My biggest complaint is the last episode that contained elements (elements I struggle to enjoy in general) that were totally unnecessary to the story and could've been skipped all together. Up until then it was amazing.
I absolutely love the storytelling and emotion in tthis movie. It doesn't try too hard to be moving, instead the problems and feelings of the characters feels very real. It was heartwarming and easy to watch. Without a doubt my favourite Filipino movie.
Usually in crime dramas (*cough* Tunnel *cough*) I get so annoyed at things that doesn't make any sense, like them never wearing gloves even when investigating a crime scene or blood looking like red lipstick. This drama has none of those moments for me and that was such a relief. Don't get me wrong, I loved Tunnel (and others) but it felt good being able to enjoy a crime drama without those distractions for once.
As many crime dramas it was pretty predictable, but I don't think that it took away from the story, it was still a great watch.
I absolutely loved the music, it just fit the mood of the drama so well and always managed to get me excited.
Enjoyable but also incredibly problematic on so many levels. It's so obvious that the director is a man that directed…
Here are some examples:
- When Rei says that she lost her virginity at 29 after having sex with the husband even though she is lesbian and has had relationships with women. As if being with a woman doesn't count as losing your virginity.
- The sex with the taxi driver was out of nowhere and made no sense at all and added nothing to the story. She had no reason to have sex with him and it felt like the scene was there for all the men out there. Like when lesbian porn is made for men. A lesbian girl being excuse my word fucked by a man. It felt disturbing and like a man's fantasy.
- During the lesbian sex scene Rei makes a comment about how it must be so nice to be a man and be able to fill Nanae up and how she can't do that, once again, a male's fantasy...
There is a lot more, but I don't have the energy to write them all down, but you can imagine.
Enjoyable but also incredibly problematic on so many levels. It's so obvious that the director is a man that directed the movie from a mans perspective and a mans fantasy about lesbian romance. Almost like how lesbian porn is usually to please men rather than women.
It's too bad that even when a movie is about romance between women everything is from the perspective of a man, especially when the plot was pretty good and it could've been such an interesting movie.
I also want to warn that this movie has an unnecessary amount of nudity in it. I don't mind nudity, but it has to feel intentional and give something to the movie, which I don't think it did in this.
So yeah please give us a realistic movie about lesbian love directed by a woman please. This feels like a movie for men that fetishize lesbians pretty much.
I'll write some specific examples in a spoiler tagged comment underneath.
Beautiful and emotional drama with amazing storytelling. Together the cinematography, music and pacing created a next to magical atmosphere that fit this drama perfectly, the last episode could've skipped some parts entirely and instead focused on the more meaningful ones, but other than that I adored it!
