I think that in the novel the prince is obsessed and in love with the female lead which would explain it, but in the drama that doesn’t seem to be the case so his behaviour doesn’t make sense at all
I can’t stand how she still only judges him and treats him harshly. I understand that she needs to keep him away from her but are all those hurtful words really necessary. I hate how he always has to be silenced and suffer in alone. I understand why she’s doing it, but it’s still hard to watch episode after episode of him being misunderstood and judged for every little thing, even the things that he had nothing to do with.

I wouldn’t call 8.3/10 low, everything about 8 is good. I would say that The Princess’s Gambit is good and worth to watch so far, but it’s not amazing or mindblowing or anything.

I’m on episode 12 and I enjoy the story. I like that the dynamic between the female lead and the male lead, I also think that they have a lot of chemistry.
If you have watched five episodes and you still don’t like it maybe it isn’t for you? You could give it a few more episodes to give the drama a fair chance, but not every drama is for everyone.
I didn’t like episode one that much and felt it was pretty bland but after episode four or so I was hooked on the story and wanted to see how things unfold. I do however feel like something is missing in this drama, but I can’t put my finger on what it could be.
I watched the first episode and the story itself looks really promising, but I can’t get over how bad the sound is. The music gets so loud while the voices are way too low and drown out because of all the other sounds.
