There will always be a certain amount of personal bias when answering any question. Anyone is free to answer the question if they feel differently or have more to add. But to take into account that it may be misleading for some people, I have removed my personal opinion so as to just answer the question alone.

The FL does something that hurts him and then pushes him away and then it leads to the ML having a misunderstanding about the FL and vice versa so they turn against each other for a little bit. But it doesn't last long, it gets resolved in around an episode or two. After that, no misunderstandings, just honesty and trust.

ML is really her brother-in-law (half), the FL's late husband was the ML's half-brother (different mothers).

so there's both,
1. the FL likes the SML first and the SFL also likes him
2. the ML likes the FL and the SML starts to like her later on
3. there's a friend of the ML but she doesn't interfere so i wouldn't include her

yes it has a happy ending

i just rewatched it recently and the way i perceived it was that he did pursue her in his own crazy way after he confessed but the fl was very adamant on not reciprocating. but each to their own interpretation :)

5. there is a love triangle in the sense that the SML loves the FL and is after her throughout the drama but she doesn't see him as more than just a friend.

as far as happy ending goes for him, he is alive and has his friends with him but no sadly he does not end up with anyone since he was only romantically interested in the FL

idk if you can call it death but he disappears in the end as his way to punish himself

So the ML Yin Xue dies twice but dw he comes back to life both times:) And apart from a few very minor characters like one of Ru Ge's maids and her father, and the evil ML An Ye Luo, none of the MLS and even the SFL & SML don't die :)

There is worrying from Yin Xue's side towards Zhan Feng around the end due to some reasons that are plot based so it'll be revealed.

Yin Xue saving Yu Zi Han is a process but he actually is able to save him on episode 14. Yin Xue saves Zhan Feng on episode 33. Yin Xue becomes Zhan Feng's teacher at the end of episode 38. And there are other interactions sprinkled throughout but i can't specifically point out the episode.
