i loved how the couple had a really mature romance. low-budget so don't expect a stellar production. the chemistry was enjoyable and i found this to be really funny. very good for a mini drama.
at episode 4, the male lead is not doing it for me. idk. he is hot for sure but i'm not really feeling the chemsitry…
I think it gets better as the story progresses and they have better and more meaningful interactions. It takes a few more eps to develop. I didn't feel it at first either, but now I do, past ep 11.
I've watched a lot of dramas. and some really, really good ones. but i will say that their confession scene is chefs kiss. so romantic. so tender. makes like a top 5 list if i had one. wowowowow. i don't usually get butterflies but maaaaaan. šš
I'm really trying to get into this. The first few eps with her coming in "guns" blazing, taking back the manor, setting up her revenge, all that was great. What is super lacking for me, and look, I am always willing to suspend disbelief, is the love story, and the ploy the Lu family is using.
By ep 3, I think it is, she's kinda starting to get smitten with Si Yu...and I don't know why. I get for him it's love/lust at first sight. I know that as the show goes on, it'll show them gradually opening up to each other and him helping her, but so early on in the story, there's no foundation for why she'd risk her life for him. He hasn't done shit except for showing mild interest in her.
And the whole thing with the marital property is getting old. exhausting, and honestly, not convincing enough to be the whole reason why the Lu family thinks they can take her down. Wouldn't this just get settled in court by lawyers? Is it that diff in China?
Also, is China queer baiting us? Bc Hai Meng and Ling Ke are putting on some serious vibes...they have way more compelling chemistry.
I love all the excitement in this discussion board, but there are soooooooo many spoilers y'all are posting! Please use the spoiler tag for those who don't want non-consensual spoilers! šš¼
The specific scene Iām referring to was how Qin Zhan dealt with Jiang Xi after she unknowingly consumed a date-rape…
As much as I hated Jingyun's character, SA is NEVER ok as a plot device, like ever. The storyline could've enacted revenge on her in soooo many other ways. She could become a disgrace actress, hell, they could've just taken her to jail, or maybe she fell and went into a coma. Anything else.
I agree. Once all the timelines and universes were restored, I didn't understand why they had to stay in their respective universes and could only meet via portal....
I'm on ep 13 and tbh, the level of constant meddling and scheming from the ML's childhood friend and her lackies is getting psychotic and exhausting. I feel like the story is really getting overshadowed by the constant, and by constant, I mean she shows up like every 5 min with another scheme. And why can she just walk into Zhan's house all the time, like at any hour?
The actress who played Leopard surprised me. At first the lip movements seemed unsynchronized with the voice so…
i was also wondering the same. it was so odd. and when she spoke only english and everyone was responding to her in chinese. but then she would switch back and forth every now and then from english to chinese?
The ending felt rushed to me. So now that the relics are sealed in their bodies, what happens when they die? They all escaped the vision the seventh relic created, but what does that mean? are all relics are subdued or destroyed?
I thought this was a really well-acted, well-written, well-filmed vertical series. These types of series are usually full of plot gaps, odd voice-overs, and dramatic story lines, but this wasn't the case here. This was a very sweet series, which captured the innocence of first love and found family.
Maybe it's just me but I found their lovey dovey moments a little cringe. The story of Xinyang was far more interesting.…
i powered through a couple more eps, and actually found after ep 24 their together time was much better. i dislike when they have the FL be so stiff and ridged, but she seemed to move on from that later.
