So I watched until first half of ep 12 (as suggested by few) and left on a happy note. I'm still traumatized by…
Jun gets leukemia in ep 15, he leaves Rara under the guise of going abroad for university. Midway through ep 16 Jun's mom shows up and acts like he is dead. Everyone believes he is dead. 5 years later (and 5 minutes before the end of the series) he shows up again and they kiss. The end.
This is such a great example of lazy writing. Why the hell would you allow someone to believe a person is dead…
absolutely ZERO reason for the cancer subplot!! don't care if it was foreshadowed since the beginning if it was only going to lead to unnecessary grief and a rushed reunion in the last 5 minutes of the show...... in fact it's absolutely embarrassing that a plot twist like that was PLANNED
And I don't understand why Gayoung told Rara to break up with Jun if that was before they found out he was sick???
I'm also confused like why would he trick her if the only reason he had to leave her was that he had to go to medical school? She's shown that she's understanding enough to not see him for a while because of school. I thought the only reason he would trick her would be to spare her from seeing him sick
You know how Shakespeare's comedies end in weddings and tragedies end in funerals...? This drama is a romantic comedy so I'm expecting a wedding next ep unless the writer tries to subvert Shakespeare lmao... But if Black had a happy ending then I'm 100% certain this show will have one too
And I don't understand why Gayoung told Rara to break up with Jun if that was before they found out he was sick???
Gayoung is the fake girlfriend that told Rara to break up with Jun when she went to go see him outside his house after he didn't show up for their date. This was before Jun found out he was sick so he hadn't teamed up with her to trick Rara yet
First I would like to apologize to Gayoung I am so sorry and you are doing amazing sweetie! Glad the writer didn’t continue with the mean and jealous 2nd girl trope but terminal illness?? In the 15th ep??? I was floored. I know the writer’s been hinting at this since the first ep but it didn’t really pay off imo, the emotional aftermath lasted like 5 seconds and there are a bunch of less flabbergasting reasons they could’ve introduced to force Jun to go abroad. Reversing one trope only to throw in another one is still tiring and it feels like I’m on an episode of Punk’d. And lmao @ Jun being ddsslls I should’ve known from Shopping King Louis omg the interwoven threads of fate is such a prevalent theme……….. Anyway, CUTE episode but could’ve done without the leukemia slap in the middle.
WHY are the crying in the preview for the next ep?? where the wedding we all deserve???????
