Ep. 25 - Although the scene was short, WOW. My heart. I’m not sure if I’m just speculating, but I feel like Mr. Lu might have understood that he and Lanxiang are somehow alike, the only survivors left from their families. It wasn’t clearly stated, but the way they looked at each other… I feel like Mr. Lu knew. And okay, I CRIED during the scene where they were burning the paper offerings. Mr. Lu’s heartfelt words to Xu Lanxiang really got me.
BUT THEN it’s still kind of annoying seeing Lanxiang being forced to marry Li Jinqi. I know it’s part of the story and it’s how the plot moves forward, but still… sir, you are annoying. Li Jinqi, please.
But is this going to be one of those “he fell first, she fell harder” stories??? Anyway, here I am again, looking forward to the next episode every day.
Also, is it really 47 episodes??? I thought there was some limit to how many episodes a drama could have. LOL. I’m not complaining though. This drama is actually giving me something to look forward to every day.
Of 2026 ive had two 10/10 cdramas. With how well done the production is on this so far I might be getting my third.…
I agree with you. I don’t know how to describe it, but the way they executed this drama just makes me want to watch it right away instead of putting it off. A lot of dramas actually make me procrastinate. I’ll think, “I’ll just watch it later,” and then when later comes, I end up not watching it at all or just completely forgetting about it. But I think this is the only drama in 2026 that I actually look forward to every day. I’m really not watching anything else aside from this one. I just hope there will be more upcoming dramas that can catch my attention, because honestly, it’s been kind of boring lately. This drama really gives me something to look forward to every day.
I don’t know if an ordinary person like me is qualified to give a standing ovation to someone as talented as Li Meng (Zhao Xing Tang). 😭
But I have to give her a standing ovation. 👏👏👏
WOW. The way she acted that (the scene where she confronted her father) her eyes HER EYES !! That delivery hit me like a punch in the face. I don’t even know how to describe it, but I LOVED IT.
I started watching this series just last week and somehow already caught up. I went into it knowing almost nothing except that it was a slice-of-life drama (one of my favorite genres) and from the very first episodes, it completely pulled me in. I laughed, cried, laughed again, and felt so many emotions throughout the journey.
What made it even more special was discovering that it shares the same screenwriter as My Liberation Notes and My Mister, which are easily two of my all-time favorite K-dramas. You can really feel that same depth, warmth, and emotional honesty in the writing.
Now there’s only one episode left, and honestly, I have no idea how this drama will end. I’m both excited and emotionally unprepared for the finale.
I just finished the first three episodes, and now I want more!
One moment that really stood out to me was in Episode 3, around the 26-minute mark, the intense stare-down between him and his uncle. He’s gripping the broom tightly, trying to hold himself together, and then he smiles. That shot was so good.
I just finished The Prisoner of Beauty and OMG—can someone PLEASE give Song Zuer and Liu Yu Ning another drama together?! I need more of their chemistry in my life!! 😭❤️🔥
Just wrapped up my first meeting this afternoon, casually browsing the internet… and BOOM — a new trailer drops! I head over to the WeTV website and BOOM again — Prisoner of Beauty is officially out! I’m beyond happy right now — who cares about workloads when beauty and drama are calling? Thank you, universe!
