I need some clarification... in the exorcism bit, Jiang Li pretended to be Aunt Hu's daughter that was killed…
imo i felt that Aunt Hu's suicide note was the final push they needed to believe that JSR truly caused all the deaths in the Jiang family
i'm not sure about the affair though — when they caught her with the diviner dead in her arms it'd be reasonable to assume that they were working together in the exorcism plot (not to mention that JRY woke up and knew it was poison) but it's not so clear to me that the grandmother and JYB figured out that the miscarried baby was the diviner's
in any case, i also wish the fallout was grander! i wanted to see the grandmother and JYB deal with the realisation that they were complicit in the deaths that JSR caused, no matter how indirect. it would've been a great narrative conclusion to the justice that JL deserved after her family abandoned her
they signify ranking! i don't remember specific rank titles (the drama doesn't really mention it either?) but…
yeah, a lot of the purple ones seem to indicate more senior positions (grand chancellor jiang, chancellor li, the secretary of judicial review guy, etc)
the banter... XFF snatching XH's fan to tease him... the continuous fondgazing........ i'm eating up their interactions like it's my last meal on earth 😩
I guess so and I guess the emperor will want Duke to marry her?
a political marriage /would/ be a reasonable method of alliance but i don't know if the emperor is thinking of playing that angle 🤔 that would certainly complicate the leads' romance plot haha
ugh i absolutely love the emotional impact of XFF saying that she /can/ tell the father she doesn't hate him and forgives him if /he/ wants to hear it, but ultimately it doesn't absolve him of his mistakes. "the wounds will heal, but scars will always remain... your li'er isn't going to come back." too little, too late!
who decide the color code for ministers, some are wearing red robes, some are in green robes and some are in purple…
they signify ranking! i don't remember specific rank titles (the drama doesn't really mention it either?) but based on their literal standing positions during court sessions, the ranking from highest to lowest is purple > red > green
i'm going to close my eyes every time i see the number 36 PLS U GUYS there's no official announcement of the episodes being cut down!!!! spare yourself the stress 🙏

I am confused.. is it 36 episode or 40? Also what happened to step mother in 28? I couldn’t make out
we'll probably get a clearer conclusion of the stepmother's story in tomorrow's episode! and i'm choosing to believe it's 40 episodes since it isn't stated outright that 36 is the end 🙈
