it's also one of my top favs!!! i know some people think the romance was disappointing but for me it hit all my favourite tropes haha, and it developed pretty realistically. the narrative drama in RF feels a bit more understated(?) but it's super satisfying all around, and overall i just really love the layers in the story and each character (thinking about matron meng, zhanji's mother, the concubine/assassin, etc — their motivations transformed throughout the different arcs, and i love that recurring characters were very fleshed out!)
the bathtub scene in RF was A+++ i still giggle to myself when i watch clips of their kiss there

why didn’t the garden guy (duke su people) wasn’t there when thr guy tried to kill the FL and ended up killing…
he had to be away for the plot 😔 (i guess he was still escorting the ventriloquist away from the scene and that's why he didn't make it back in time...)
