yeah there's a scene i really like that happens at the start of EP 11 ^_^ eventually in EP 14 they start acknowledging that they both can work together (and the leads interact more freely when XFF travels out of the capital to meet the ye family)

it's a slow burn but tbh the wait is worth all the lovely scenes we get of them! the episodes they released this week gave us so many good romantic interactions and tropes (EP 19 was my fav)

once you get past the school arc (~EP 11) the drama introduces new plotlines where they interact more!

LOL we'll have to see if she manages to redeem herself...

based on the spoiler clip they posted on weibo, jiang ruoyao saves(?) her! she hits ZYB over the head with a rock (fits with the bloody rock emoji on the schedule)

the little lip twitch when XFF said "you look handsome when you're angry" hwjfjgh XH was fighting for his life trying to keep that pout on his face

i'm in love with how XFF argued against the false accusations by blowing up their statements to a hyperbolic level lol it really showed everyone just how ridiculous magistrate xue's alleged "corruption" is compared to feng yutang's actual crimes. she was like oh you wanna talk crazy? i'll show you REAL crazy

yesss i heard she took some time off to learn and refine her acting in theatre plays. that might be why she's so great at delivering her lines with all those microexpressions! she knows how to embody the character and the script ✨

it makes me happy when i see praise for WJY's acting <3 she's grown a lot since SOYP. her scenes in these recent episodes really show her range!! she deserves all her flowers

exactly what i love about her!!! she's worthy of being a powerful queen chess piece 😌

i didn't think of it until you mentioned it but i see it!! i do love the trope subversion haha. XFF won't stand for another betrayal, and being a willing pawn means she maintains her agency
