I miss smt from the story, can someone tell me who is pei dai yu and why are they searching for his adopted son?
in short: pei dafu is a corrupted official/ringleader of the "zuohang gang" (full of other corrupt officials) and they're searching for his son because he might have a clue as to where his father hid away all his stolen riches
sooo worth it! the characters all feel so fleshed out, there's not over-the-top cliches, and they really let the FL shine. extra bonus (in my eyes) is the gorgeous cinematography, sets, and ming dynasty costumes! you can tell that the cast & crew took great care with this drama
yeah i think the father is the major villain because there are hints that he poisoned his father + caused the death of the eldest daughter (the one who married yunxi)
the song they have playing in hanyan and her mom's scenes make me so emo 😭 i love that they got two women to sing in a call and response way like they're talking to/about each other 😭 and then towards the end of the song they're singing TOGETHER...... i need it on spotify asap so i can cry to it whenever i want
