i'm enjoying how everyone is smart in this drama... usually in reborn plots the protag defeats all her enemies…
YES i prefer this kind of growth arc compared to rebirth as some sort of magical +1000 intelligence buff. i guess some people don't like watching the protag "lose" a bunch of times but it literally builds character (lol)

nooo the jujube cakes were poisoned /after/ she got married to xiao xun. since she doesn't in the rebirth, her dad never got poisoned. he already had a longstanding illness
