i don't remember the ep # rn but there's a part where they mention that prince xiaonan had to surrender some of his people/power/wealth/etc. so the emperor would only grant the marriage after he knew the prince was "weakened" and he had leverage over him (not that it made them any less ambitious lol)

it's just how it is with youku tbh, it gets harder to raise the heat index the closer you are to 10K (not to mention it's harder this year). and it didn't help that they only updated 1 ep on the third day. but the great thing is that there hasn't been a drop!! everyone's still pushing hard!! numbers on dengta show it's only a matter of time
