I'm curious to Know what happen in the Manga after Maki left
Maki went to the US and The rest of the Ninth became their own Chiefs of their own headquarters around the country. Aoki became the one for Kyushu where he's from. Aoki goes to the US to meet Maki after a few years and MRI has developed quite a bit since then (they can go further back than 5 years and they can examine the brain as long as the stem is intact? I can't remember but it can be destroyed to some extent and they can still do MRI). Maki then moves to Paris and Aoki writes him a letter giving an update on his life with Mai and his job in Kyushu as Chief of the Eighth Presinct. Yukiko is seen getting married to another man and they both attend her wedding

The manga and anime has a character called Amachi who ended up dying and was part of the Ninth but her arc was cut from the show. Aoki’s sister dies in the manga (not sure if she dies in the anime. I have a few more episodes to go)

Exactly! There are two forces at play here. One side that wants him to expose it as its government corruption, the other side (the police, etc) want him to cover it up because it is government corruption (basically the same reason). I don’t know how theyll tackle it in the drama but I suspect it'll still involve government corruption since that was the underlying theme of the manga conclusion. I still think Takimoto's lines in Episode 1 foreshadow the plot in some way that we still don’t know.
