Just read JTBC will cut all "possible scenes" with the actor Kim Min Gwi because she cheated on his real life…
I feel like they wrapped things up pretty well in Episode 7. I mean he breaks up with her, so maybe the showrunners will choose to tie that up with a bow instead of following up with more tension.
Episode 7 really shows that Kyu Hyun isn't ready to share a light, fun relationship with Bit Na, which is what she's more into. I wonder if Kyu Hyun's character speaks with satoori to show that his more conservative views on romance link to his regional upbringing, while Bit Na's views on relationships are more like a city-bred Seoulite. Kyu Hyun was pretty intense this episode and I honestly didn't appreciate him freezing out Bit Na. I think that he struggles to understand Bit Na's ways of showing affection and having a relationship, and he blames her for it, rather than trying to communicate and understand their differences.
I can completely relate to Nabi, that hellish state of mind, the uncertainty, worrying, obsessing even on whether…
I actually love that you asked how Bit Na and Park Jae Eon are different.
I have this feeling Bit Na's relationship with Nam Kyu Hyun is going to parallel with Park Jae Eon's relationship with Na Bi. Bit Na and Jae On are both totally open about their open approaches to dating and relationships. It'll be interesting to see how each of them deal with seeing someone who wants more from them in terms of an exclusive relationship.
I'll give it more time but I bet he's more manipulative than he's being given credit for. I agree with a lot of…
tl;dr: I get where you're coming from and I guess we'll wait and see as the episodes come out. I guess I have a more open idea of what is and is toxic/unhealthy in a relationship because I see Na Bi as a resilient character who can eventually bounce back if things go downhill.
I do think Na Bi has bitten off more than she can chew by taking Jae Eon's bait, and I think she is aware of that. As the show goes on, I think she will take hits to her self-esteem and develop a more cynical outlook on relationships, but I don't think those things are irrevocable for someone like her. While she is passive on a day to day basis, she is capable of drawing the line when someone oversteps her boundaries (like her ex). Also, people seem to see Na Bi as this naive little flower. Do people not notice Na Bi pausing and actively making a decision when she chooses to take his cigarette, not kiss him during a game of spin the bottle, kiss him when he tells her he won't do anything she's not comfortable with?
I think Jae Eon is playing pretty fair. He's been open about his views of exclusive relationships, he doesn't make any moves without Na Bi's consent, he doesn't accept advances from other women when he's with Na Bi. And he doesn't really owe her that simply because he knows she has a crush on him (or 썸 in Korean). Sure, he still tries to tempt her anyway, but isn't that what most of us do when we're trying to attract someone? I think he is a bit handsy, but given that he's pretty sensitive to Na Bi's body language, I think he would've stopped if he really noticed it was bothering her, rather than making her a bit uncomfortable and shy.
Wow i agree so much! Finally someone with a mature perspective lol. People are rarely black and white simply labeling…
So true! I love how the show encourages us to view the situation from so many perspectives!
I've seen a lot of comments about this, but at the moment I don't think that Jae Eon is super manipulative (it would honestly be tiring to be so calculative all the time). I think he's a flirt and knows how to play the game of push and pull, but I don't think he has that much control over Na Bi. And I think it's realistic that he's not a total alpha male. I find that young women are more likely to fall for a guy who is charming and confident, but shows some vulnerabilities, like when he admits he feels hurt by Na Bi. That's what builds a sense of intimacy.
I don't see this as a drama about a f*boi and his side piece. I also don't see it as a drama about a toxic relationship. I think the director has a much more nuanced view to share with us.
This drama is about what Na Bi wants, what Jae Eon wants, and what they're willing to give each other. Jae Eon has been super open about what he wants from Na Bi - he's happy to be close without being exclusive. You can see moments when he genuinely enjoys her company and when he feels hurt by her unintentional coldness. People who say that Song Kang is a poor actor are missing the fleeting expressions of uncertainty turning to joy. I think he will fall for Na Bi, but that doesn't mean he will compromise his principles about relationships.
Na Bi isn't stupid. She is aware of what Jae Eon wants and what he is capable of offering, yet she still hopes for more. Their desires and expectations are incompatible, in spite of Na Bi's hopes that she might be special enough to change him.
I think this drama shows how experiencing love/confusion/lust can force you to realise what you truly want in a relationship and what you won't compromise. By diving headfirst into a murky relationship, Na Bi is learning how to draw clear boundaries in the future.
I'm so sad about this episode. I loved Shun for his minimalist thinking, I believed that he was happy with that…
I don't think the point is that Shun is moving from minimalist to workaholic.
The main reason why Shun is working so hard is because he is repaying a debt to Hana and her father for leaving their restaurant so suddenly and selfishly. He needs to do this in order to move past his regret about his past.
I love how after the credits roll we get to appreciate the little moments in which Shun just notices Mashiba. Like when you peek at your crush before you know that's your crush. She's caught his eye and inspired curiosity in him from the very beginning.
Isn't it crazy that Jun's mum has been looking so hard for him, but he was at Gu Ra Ra's wedding at the same time as his mum? I'm surprised he didn't bump into his mum.
Based on the last scene on Episode 2, I'm pretty sure Jun is sitting next to the ex-fiance. Isn't it interesting that Jun probably knows Gu Ra Ra's ex-fiance, but he still calls Gu Ra Ra out for choosing to marry someone she's never met?
If you're wondering whether you should watch this... WATCH IT! Ignore the depressing poster. This drama is full of light and love (even against a bleak background). It's truly heartfelt and you will love all the characters!
Is the Brahms-Clara-Schumann love triangle also happens in Songah-Doyoon-Minsung relationship? :/
Yes. Song Ah is similar to Brahms because she's friends with Min Sung and in love with Dong Yoon, but can't pursue him for fear of hurting Min Sung. Dong Yoon takes the place of Clara and Min Sung takes the place of Schumann.
The ending was super satisfying and super well done. Keep in mind that it is a military drama, so you might shed a few tears (;_;), but it's totally worth it!
I literally had to binge this in a week. It was THAT good. The plot and characters were so bomb! And the character development. ;_; so good. I connected with each and every one of the characters, even some of the bad guys.
But am I the only one that noticed that Xie Liangchen always thought of Shen Jun Shan as a big brother figure? It was pretty clear to me. The first time they really had a conversation, he said something that reminded her of her older brother. She followed him around, felt concerned about him and was loyal to him because he reminded her of her brother.
Obviously, Gu Yan Zhen mistook that for romantic interest and became super jealous. But he had it all wrong. For me, the love triangle was sorted out very early on. But I get why other viewers might have been confused.
Bahaha I don't know why I find your reply so funny. They're really following the manga plot quite closely so far. I shouldn't have read about what happens in the manga I don't want them to be separated ;_;
I think the show has 2 love triangles because they're trying to make a comparison to Brahms' historical relationship with Clara Schumann and Robert Schumann. Like the trailer mentions, Brahms was in love with Clara for much of his adult life, but when he first met her she was married. Brahms was also very close with Robert and admired him.
Both the FL and ML are in separate love triangles where they're loving someone from afar. The person they love is either in a relationship with a close friend or desired by a close friend.
So the FL and ML are both the 'Brahms' of their respective love triangles. So there's a parallel between the characters.
