Iqiyi is dead this year and the biggest mistake was to take a 2days break after EP 17 which got the highest heat index 8700+ . Despite that FOF maintains a stable position. Hou Minghao's character Zhao Yuan Zhou broke 9 on VLINKAGE for some days which is not easy unless the character is super popular.
Many treats this drama with prejudice that's why they can't enjoy this. While for me it's one of the best which I will remember for a long time. All the genuine watchers also think like that. This drama has a long tail effect.

Every small actions were judged by the marketing accounts and people would join in spreading hatred just by seeing the screenshots without knowing the actual context as maximum didn't watch the show. They ask people not to watch the main film and that's why many doesn't know what happened inside the show.

So ignore that fact and watch in a free mindset. And judge yourself. I enjoyed watching it when those online violence didn't interrupt me mentally.
