Yes, please do give this drama a try. I can understand your frustrations as romance is an inseparable element I look for when watching dramas too. Despite the storyline for FOF not focused entirely on the romance part, most of the viewers who had watched this drama praised the great chemistry between Neo and Dudu. You will know when you watch their scenes even if it is not a lot. They give off strong old married couple vibes, all their scenes are memorable and touching. Their lovestory in this might be subtle but you will find their love for each other to be so deep.

Some comments i've read said their chemistry is overflowing even without intimate scenes. If you watch, long ballad, love of nirvana, love game in eastern fantasy and the double, the romance here is quite similar.

The story of this drama is more centered towards the great demon Zhao Yuan Zhou's life and his journey with the demon hunting team, the overall theme of the story focuses more on friendship and fate. The romance part between Zhao Yuan Zhou and Wen Xiao is there, they are given a number of scenes but it does not occupy the whole storyline.
