To be honest, it is not THAT bad to the point I wanted to stop watching the show (as a lot of people did in the…
me too ..wow.... really rare to see such a bad show coming out of S-Korea.
May I add a point to your list :)
9. The entire show was playing in a "cafe" with plenty of tables. Who can guess how many customers this cafe has in a day / week / month ? (Hint: its a little bit less than 1).
Finally get around to watch this show and I don't regret it. It was for sure a low budget production but the cast made it work. A simple story, no big drama and that means the actors need to carry the show - and they did a rally god job. If you watch this show, please try not to compare it with today's shows. It its one of the shows who paved the way to todays BL successes. This show is a great sample of why BL's went mainstream and is unfortunately underrated.
The drama is at least an 8/10 ...7.3 is extremely low... Just a pov for the ones who are debating between watching…
i totally agree but i anticipated a low rating. Unfortunately too many people in here rate a show based on looks of the cast and happy ending. I enjoyed this show ....wrong ... i did not enjoy it - i found it interesting and thoughtful and fascinating.
I personally rate the show above average but not top end. It got a bit repetitive and drawn out in the middle episodes. Furthermore they could have done a better job showcasing the social media problem, that many celebrities face. Bloggers and posters care only about "hits" and "likes". The juicier the content, the more hits/likes they can get and as long as they add a question mark at the end, they can post whatever you want :)
it's a beautiful and romantic love story with a happy ending :) There is lots of crying going on but not for the usual drama. The script and dialogues were well written and I think you'll enjoy this show. If you decide to watch it, let me know what you think :)
The first thing I noticed when I started to watch the show were the really bad subtitles. They were computer generated and often made no sense at all. At the end of the show (fast forwarded quite a lot) I realized, that the subtitles were probably the best and most professional part of this series. 😮 What a waste of time watching this.
Honestly the rating and comments below are kind of depressing. Basically, most commenters say, to get a high rating it must have lots of BL content and a happy ending. Really!? I think this was a very well done and produced series, showing teen angst and teen-adult transition pains. The time when you avoid looking into a mirror, because you are afraid of what you are looking at. Congrats to the actors, they did a great job defining their characters :)
I love how this series gives a realistic view of the BL entertainment industry. Hey you are cute, you can be in our show. You can't act - never mind, the other actors fall into the same category 😬
It sounds alright yeah, good actually but I'm not here for music lol
actually I was surprised how well the actors played the instruments . Usually the movements of the hands, bows, etc don't match the music - this cast (including the hand models playing the piano :) did a great job
I love enemies to lovers and toxic ML’s but damn Tae Yi was on another level of toxic. He was over the line…
Totally agree with your comment, loved the show and the acting - especially the main actors, who believably portrayed their character and did not resort to the usual overacting to portray emotions and human flaws.
so i finally got around to watch this BL - and did I like it? Well, Yes! The main reason is the premise of the story and the cast. I was impressed with the acting and it shows how good some of these actors can be, when pushed by a director. Especially Fluke and Earth gave outstanding performances (with the exception of some scenes, where emotions were reduced to just an endless flow of tears). On the other hand, there were holes in the storyline that were so big, that not even this constant flow of tears could fill them. I watched all 17 episodes without skipping and fast-forwarding and the story took me so in, that I did not mind the shortcomings and holes in the story. I truly liked the show.
So please congratulate me, I watched all 10 episodes :) ....OK i did fast forward a little bit. The acting wasn't really good but I don't blame the actors for that. It looked like the director rushed the production through and decided that for many scenes the first take was good enough to use. I saw potential in some actors but they were not challenged or pushed to give their best. The plot was a bit thin and inconsistent, but I loved the fight scenes. They were so cute, even my 6 year old niece enjoyed them :) In summary, I would say light entertainment with cute boys. A harmless gangster show that does not frighten young children (no blood and the bad guys are not really that bad)
I just finished Cherry Magic and I am now appreciating Phi New .. I was really looking for a good drama of him…
It is one of these series that you either love or hate....i have a spreadsheet with all the BL's I watched and my grades next to the MDL grades. Most are similar but there are a few shows, where my score is opposite MDL's. For example, I loved "The Yearbook", gave it a 9.5 and here it got just a 7.4 :( The Warp Effect has an 8.4 on MDL but I gave it just a 5.5 :) That does not mean it is bad, I just did not like it, for me the plot was too forced and outlandish. But I would say give it a shot, maybe you'll have my "Yearbook" experience and love it :)
Finally got around to watch this. A beautiful love story that is overlooked and underrated (most likely because it doesn't have a happy ending.) The show is slow-paced and for once I find that a good thing. I do agree with previous posters, that starting from episode 5 we had to re-watch the entire first 4 episodes in backflash scenes. I found myself a few times fast forwarding . I am usually very critical in my comments but for this series I will gladly give some rare praises to the two main actors and the director. It is different than other BL's and I am glad I got to see now 2 beautiful love stories ( the other is "The Day I Loved You") that made me cry :)
This Thai version managed to nearly perfectly address three issues I had with the Japanese live action: 1) how…
I too agree with you - but i think the Thai version struggled a bit trying to convert the traditional (most non-Japanese call it "weird" :) Japanese office culture
Doing a remake of a successful show is difficult, because of the inevitable direct comparison. The tricky thing is to take the cultural uniqueness of Japanese BL's and change it to Thai. It helped that the original Japanese show had already some traditional elements of a Thai BL. You need to wait until episode 9 and 3 years of dating before you can press a quick smooch on the cheek, another two years of dating and living together to hold hands for the first time :) (I never dated a Thai guy but if they are like in the BL's, it would overstretch my patience, even if they are as cute as in the BL's :) One thing the Thai version clearly struggled with, was converting the traditional Japanese office culture. Otherwise I would say a cute and "very" sweet office romance, decent acting, nicely executed but not a standout.
I'm a man of peace, but today I will defend these men to the last drop of blood. Especially after today's interview.…
You should watch Fellini's "Orchestra Rehearsal" or "Roma" where the main cast are ordinary people with no acting background, playing themselves. And - yes, I would have loved to see this series directed by Ridley Scott :)

Yes, if it is the language of lovers they use to speak to each other, then use it where appropriate, but not in the middle of a serious discussion with multiple people - too often it was just random, no apparent reason. So why did Jason Lee suddenly speak one sentence in broken English to his henchmen when he grew up in the US?
