I love enemies to lovers and toxic ML’s but damn Tae Yi was on another level of toxic. He was over the line…
Totally agree with your comment, loved the show and the acting - especially the main actors, who believably portrayed their character and did not resort to the usual overacting to portray emotions and human flaws.

so i finally got around to watch this BL - and did I like it? Well, Yes! The main reason is the premise of the story and the cast. I was impressed with the acting and it shows how good some of these actors can be, when pushed by a director. Especially Fluke and Earth gave outstanding performances (with the exception of some scenes, where emotions were reduced to just an endless flow of tears). On the other hand, there were holes in the storyline that were so big, that not even this constant flow of tears could fill them.
I watched all 17 episodes without skipping and fast-forwarding and the story took me so in, that I did not mind the shortcomings and holes in the story. I truly liked the show.

So please congratulate me, I watched all 10 episodes :) ....OK i did fast forward a little bit. The acting wasn't really good but I don't blame the actors for that. It looked like the director rushed the production through and decided that for many scenes the first take was good enough to use. I saw potential in some actors but they were not challenged or pushed to give their best.
The plot was a bit thin and inconsistent, but I loved the fight scenes. They were so cute, even my 6 year old niece enjoyed them :) In summary, I would say light entertainment with cute boys. A harmless gangster show that does not frighten young children (no blood and the bad guys are not really that bad)

I just finished Cherry Magic and I am now appreciating Phi New .. I was really looking for a good drama of him…
It is one of these series that you either love or hate....i have a spreadsheet with all the BL's I watched and my grades next to the MDL grades. Most are similar but there are a few shows, where my score is opposite MDL's. For example, I loved "The Yearbook", gave it a 9.5 and here it got just a 7.4 :( The Warp Effect has an 8.4 on MDL but I gave it just a 5.5 :) That does not mean it is bad, I just did not like it, for me the plot was too forced and outlandish. But I would say give it a shot, maybe you'll have my "Yearbook" experience and love it :)

Finally got around to watch this. A beautiful love story that is overlooked and underrated (most likely because it doesn't have a happy ending.) The show is slow-paced and for once I find that a good thing. I do agree with previous posters, that starting from episode 5 we had to re-watch the entire first 4 episodes in backflash scenes. I found myself a few times fast forwarding .
I am usually very critical in my comments but for this series I will gladly give some rare praises to the two main actors and the director. It is different than other BL's and I am glad I got to see now 2 beautiful love stories ( the other is "The Day I Loved You") that made me cry :)

This Thai version managed to nearly perfectly address three issues I had with the Japanese live action: 1) how…
I too agree with you - but i think the Thai version struggled a bit trying to convert the traditional (most non-Japanese call it "weird" :) Japanese office culture

Doing a remake of a successful show is difficult, because of the inevitable direct comparison. The tricky thing is to take the cultural uniqueness of Japanese BL's and change it to Thai. It helped that the original Japanese show had already some traditional elements of a Thai BL. You need to wait until episode 9 and 3 years of dating before you can press a quick smooch on the cheek, another two years of dating and living together to hold hands for the first time :) (I never dated a Thai guy but if they are like in the BL's, it would overstretch my patience, even if they are as cute as in the BL's :)
One thing the Thai version clearly struggled with, was converting the traditional Japanese office culture. Otherwise I would say a cute and "very" sweet office romance, decent acting, nicely executed but not a standout.

I'm a man of peace, but today I will defend these men to the last drop of blood. Especially after today's interview.…
You should watch Fellini's "Orchestra Rehearsal" or "Roma" where the main cast are ordinary people with no acting background, playing themselves. And - yes, I would have loved to see this series directed by Ridley Scott :)

Yes, if it is the language of lovers they use to speak to each other, then use it where appropriate, but not in the middle of a serious discussion with multiple people - too often it was just random, no apparent reason. So why did Jason Lee suddenly speak one sentence in broken English to his henchmen when he grew up in the US?

I totally agree with you..!! Like come on what's the big deal if they want to communicate in a different language.…
I think you missed the point - the English felt weird because it was badly integrated. You had Thai actors speaking Thai to each other and suddenly in the middle of a sentence they start speaking broken English. No reason, no other person joining, listening in, revealing something, etc.

You are correct, there are many shows with bad acting. You can blame the director, maybe he didn't care about acting - if that show would have been directed by a Federico Fellini or an Ang Lee, it would have been different. They both loved to use just ordinary people off the street. If they wanted them angry or crying, they made them angry or crying. In this show too many lines were just read without any emotion and felt disconnected from the scene. And for me the English was just horrible. If they can't speak it, use a teacher to help with the lines.

WOW !!!! I just finished watching this series - first the grades:
solid 10 for locations, lighting and cinematography (one of the best I have seen in a Thai BL)
9.5 for music, editing and for story POTENTIAL!
Solid 1 for acting, story development and for the armchair philosophy parts

Sorry, but this does not make any sense to me! Why do such an expensive high-quality production for a soft porn? I understand that the production saved a lot of money by not using professional actors and substituted with hot guys from a Gym with zero acting background and experience. At the end, not even the hilarious comedy/sitcom parts saved this series. I mean the parts when they suddenly started speaking English (i could not find a reason for these comedy scenes). At least it was really funny watching these bodybuilders, who did not speak a single word English, trying to read English dialogue phonetically word-by-word.
Anyway my final grade is 5.0 due the eye candy (not the acting) with an apology to the production team who did an amazing job.

That final episode was underwhelming. Easily the worst episode of the series because nothing made any real sense…
no big finale, it looks more like a setup/teaser for season-2

On Cooking Crush Feb 23, 2024
So I just finished my "Cooking Crush" dinner. It was for sure not a a gourmet meal like "Last Twilight" that unfortunately had a rotten desert (last two episodes) and not the Michelin rated top of the line meal we got with "Love for Love's Sake". I would describe this series more as comfort food like a ... "cup-o-noodles". You know what's in the cup, you had the same predicable flavor plenty of times, not too spicy and goes down easy. It can give you a warm and fuzzy feeling on a cold winter night. But to give the series credit, it did add a few fresh ingredients. I liked the production, it had a good pace and the sound effects where not overwhelming. The chemistry between the characters needed some seasoning and the acting was a bit like mixed vegetables. Some scenes were really funny and some scenes where desperate attempts to be funny. I think the release timing was perfect. After some really great meals I did not mind some light and fluffy comfort food.

Look i have one question......what was with all the feet. Especially at the end......heavens Never been more happy…
There is a simple explanation for the feet scene - I heard NAIL was not available for this scene, so they showed the closest thing to it, and that is a "toe nail" :)

You're gonna hate me for this but I'm kinda obsessed with the name Babe. But I get where you're coming from, some…
Oh no, I don't hate you, i appreciate your response. Yes I enjoy venting my "personal" opinions but I always respect others opinion (except if you chew with your mouth open :)). How sad would it be, if everybody would love/hate the same shows. Politely disagreeing makes a discussion forum work and fun. Right Babe :)

I already vented about the sound effects - but there is something else that drives me crazy in Thai BL's and does not work international. Names!!. There are tons of cute Thai names as well as English, Spanish, etc names. Why naming them NAIL, GUN, TOP, BOTTOM, FIRST, REFRIDGERATOR, ....I took a full point off my review of Bit Babe for naming the main character "BABE" it did not fit the character and sounded like a joke.
But maybe they are planning a series putting all these characters together: TOP GUNs for FIRST while BABE NAIL's BOTTOM :)

I'm exhausted but I am so proud i managed to watch 2 episodes without slashing my screen....One of the worst shows i have ever watched. Most soft porns pretend to have a story, not this show (beep beep) I have no problem (kaching) with occasional sound effects (tut tut) every few minutes (haha), even 1 (booh) or 2 (ting Ting) every minute (growl) are ok but 1 every 3-5 seconds (kling) is beyond annoying (tadam!!) and makes this (poop poop) unwatchable!!
