ensemble casts having always existed is irrelevant. a gay couple has been erased in favor of a "straight" one…
Very true! With high expectations can come big disappointments. I'm going to hope for the best. Love for Love's Sake was a great recent Korean BL, so even if this ends up as a flop, there's a glimmer of hope for future series!

Comics are quite literally the reason I became a drama fan. As an OG reader of Heesu, I'm just glad they haven't scrapped this story completely. Of course I want it to be as faithful as possible! Of course I want it to be as gay as possible! I have literally been camping on this page for over a year. I've also been here long enough to not trust any rumors until there is actual proof.
If you want to talk about "If": If the rumors are true, it's not ideal, but I'm also not surprised. Korea is homophobic at large. Ahn Jiho is a rising star. At first I thought they shelved it for his "image." If this really is airing on TvN, aka national television, I am not surprised they are trying to pander to a larger audience. More viewers = more money. If they really do go crazy on the censorship, no one is forcing you to watch it and no one is forcing you to like it. I probably won't like it much either.
I'm all for holding companies to high standards, but let's have a reality check. This is Korea. Mostly gay is better than absolutely no gay. I'm just a fan who is excited to see the result regardless. I am also a fan who is ready to move on and read the OG story instead if this ends up as a disappointment. I have had to do that countless times before, not even because of censorship reasons, sometimes adaptations just suck.
Geez guys, all that was rumored was that there would be main het couple. They didn't say anywhere that the het couple are the main couple or main leads. Don't go clutching your pearls just because some changes were made, this is SO common when it comes to manhwa adaptations. Personally, I would have preferred the canon side couple, but straight supporting couples are also so common in BL. Plus ensemble casts have always been a thing, so don't go making stuff up when they haven't aired an episode or even a trailer proving that they are "the main couple." You guys are getting way too ahead of yourselves.
POSTER!!! I was about to drive the car I had parked on this page for the past god-knows-how-long off a cliff, but I have found yet another reason to stay
WHOOHOO!!!!!!!!!! it's back!!!! I've already been camping on this page for over a year. I really hope they can keep the two leads, but it's so far out now T-T
"-Your next work ‘Class 2 Lee Hee-soo’ was a BL (Boys Love) drama. Is there a reason you joined?
â–¶I knew the genre was BL, but the character Lee Hee-soo was cute and attractive. He is an ordinary student, but I thought he was a fun character with a bit of comedy. He didn't think that the drama itself was mainly about BL. I did it because it felt like a human comedy that showed how Hee-su grows."
