Novel readers, I have a question if you dont mind help answering it
Was the part about Yan Chi’s identity as Prince Rui’s son also being questioned in the novel? I know the main couple ended up being Emperor/Empress in the novel so I assume his identity is legit. But if the questionable fact is smth new added to the drama, this could probably be a hint for the drama’s ending. Thinking smth similar to Wonderland of Love where the couple retire to the border, this drama also mentioned a lot about Yan Chi’s time in the border.

Ooo thats impressive! I’ve only seen her in that drama with Dylan Wang as her little uncle and both there and here, her cutesy acting is pretty endearing and not over the top
I’m impressed that the actress that played Yue Ning actually princess-carry the general’s daughter, who should at least weigh the same as herself. She even looked pretty effortless doing it, coz even though its a short step on the scene, they must’ve waited in that position at least about a minute before the cue. Now she looked more believable as a martial expert lol

Agree. If this is war, then kill-or-be-killed mentality is a given, but I’m sure YC is smart enough to find ways to torment people without actually killing them. For what that princess supposedly do later, quick death will be mercy for her and too messy for our ML, which might be worth it but not satisfying enough. She needs a lesson she’ll never forget.
Just watched the trailer for tomorrow episodes. Someone mentioned in the novel, this is when YC finally show his ruthlesness towards those who messed with the people he loved. I hope they depict it nicely in the drama and not turn him into some weird psychopath moment that is way out of his character. We still want him to be a green flag with just the right amount of red streak.
Just finished the fire scene on eps 19 since a lot of people commented on it. I gotta say that this is one of the smartest and calmest rescue scene I’ve ever seen on the entire dramaland lol There’s no hero that stupidly rushing in without checking if there is anyone indeed need saving or the heroine just helplessly fainted and flashback to her life choices I think their actions really fits how their character written so far. Ever since she stepped into the room QW keeps checking her surrounding, but her integrity and sense of justice tops her concern for safety so that’s why she stayed n tried to save the man, even when the room is on fire. This is a classic good police morale. And I love when she knew YC landed on the roof, she pointed him to a safe landing spot by firing the arrow and he immediately catches on it. Their understanding of each other is just beyond romantic love, they are true partners and equal. Even when one seemed to be doing risky thing, the other support and help protect them instead of scolding them like most drama couple where the man needs to be the hero of the relationship. I think other couple that has the same dynamic was the pair from kdrama Happiness.
I gotta say, I love NH’s character even more coz all of his actions really represent his character, compassionate, smart and resourceful. Aside from his military n literary prowess, everything about NH as a human being is definitely embodies what a future nation ruler should be. Though I can relate to SYM’s fear of helplessness ever since she realized that all key scenes will happen one way or another (no matter what plot was changed in between), I wish she’d tell NH sooner about the script so he can help her strategize around the plot hole. I mean, he took one look at the board, memorized it, and though he’s as baffled as every other normal human being with functional brain at the three-stabbing scene, he still managed to figure out the workaround. I hoped tomorrow’s episodes will get to see them in their romance mode before heading towards the deadly jump.
The music director for this drama deserves a standing ovation - the BGM makes all the difference between the comedy n the serious plot that none looked or sounded too cheesy or over the top. This drama raise the bar on how to transition between original and alternate story/timeline/universe in the same frame

Does anyone noticed that all the key scenes/plot are happening at the same exact episode number both in the actual drama and original story? The last key scene was in eps 22 (the affair) and the next one will be in eps 37 (the fall) so I guess we’re currently watching the alternate story that was created bcoz of FL’s interferences, kinda reminded me of the alternate timelines lol
