I don't understand why this drama was being rated so highly. It was supposed to be a rom-com but ended up being so traumatized with so many good roles dead at the final episode. Besides that how did Chen Yu survived from the deep fall in the pit/well? Dong Fang Shi on the other hand supposed to be a villain but ended up I feel sorry for him. His role is so interesting which I can't help but liking his role more than the lead actor role.
Conclusion is I feel that Hu Bu Qi role is a the weakest role in this drama. Everyone dies due to her Maiden status for Bi Luo Tian. The scriptwriter should have spare few roles instead of getting everyone killed end of the day. It's like they are rushing to end the whole drama but so called with a happy ending which most viewers are not happy with the "happy ending".
Anyway everyone of us have different preferences - one man medicine is another man poison so I will leave it to the rest to judge if this drama is really that good......as for me I will rate this drama 4/10.
Atm I am at episode 22 and so far so good for cdrama standard. I like the way how Ai Da, Xin Bao Rui and Si Mei Qi competes in the fashion industry or business regardless online platform or shopping outlet. How to stay on the competitive edge and avoid pitfalls or deadly traps set by competitors that makes me stay on to this drama. Besides that it also slowly moves on to the romance side like Ai Da president Li Zhi Cheng with designer, Lin Qian.
My main concern is I hope this story won't shift and focus too much on Li Zhi Cheng and Lin Qian romance side or else it defeat the original story line.
As I noticed cdramas, tend to have great momentum starting off a drama but toward middle or ending part it will be either draggy, dry or messy which makes everyone feels frustrated.

Luckily Y Fancy managed to hit sales revenue above 100 million which helps them to pay off the 20 million red packets as Ai Da earned lesser profit.

Tbh at the beginning I prefer Yuan An with Zhao Lan Zhi than Mu Le. Even till now at episode 48, I still hope Yuan An ends up with Zhao since Princess Hui Ming is willing to divorce Zhao. Mu Le deserves better woman than Yuan An or else I prefer Mu Le being alone than going after Yuan An who doesn't know how to appreciate or love him back. That's the problem with cdrama, it starts off with great momentum then it slowly goes down hill from middle or ending which makes everyone so frustrated. Cdramas industry needs to acknowledge this problem and don't keep on repeating the same mistakes over and over again or else it will be very difficult for them to penetrate into international market.

Thank you for the details information on this drama. Now it explains why the 2nd lead actor has so much airing time. The reason is normally in most dramas the 2nd lead actor will not have main actress and 2nd lead actress goes chasing and drooling for him but in this case it's the opposite. Besides that this drama is worth watching as firstly, I like the casting for this drama from the lead till the supporting actors and actresses. They managed to nail their role well especially the lead actor whom has to play so main roles from horseboy/miss slave to soldier then to bandit and becoming a Prince. It's very challenging to act in so many roles and he managed to pull it thru so well! Secondly, it never strikes in mind that this story is well written which I mean is it's not draggy or dry in the middle. At the moment I have watched till episode 36 with English subs. and I can't wait for the coming episodes. Thirdly, the OST for this drama is so good as well (the opening & closing OST) the OST really suit this drama theme. Luckily Zheng Ye Cheng did not terminate his contract with HC's company. It's a blessing in disguise for him and I am glad that finally he managed to get recognition as an actor. Last and not least I hope this drama ends well not necessary having happy ending but an acceptable ones.

The YWY ending version - I am very disappointed 'coz nothing has been done it's only cut and paste from their past scene.
Whereas for GCG there are some additional scene which I really appreciated as few of these scene was featured at the ending theme song of this drama.
In fact the title for this drama is very misleading - The Princess of Lanling King. The reason is from episode 1 till last episode it concentrate on QS hate turned to love relationship with YWY as it do not gives much focus on XL/QS relationship with GCG.
Therefore by using Lanling King title over here is not that appropriate.......that is my personal opinion.
The whole story concentrate on getting the Bead Pearl and Lican Sword in order to conquer the whole China and conspiracy of Yu Wen Hu against the Emperor which caused the Emperor to die due to poison (again!)
The plus for this drama is the nice costume and scenery featured and great OST especially the opening and ending theme songs.
