Just finished watching till episode 30 in WeTV with English subs. The whole story was again on self-discovery for LingLong. Btw I feel that LingLong father - Huo Tu Xin plays more role than the Majestic - Yuan Yi who gone missing for the past few episodes and Huo Tu Xin too have many ladies falling for him e.g. Ying Zhuang & Wu Yuan. That role Wei Sheng Yan is a role which I don't know to like or dislike him 'coz without this type of role this drama will not be as mysterious. Watching him conducting all the evil deeds yet was so weak when he wanted to save the lady that he loves that make me feel sorry for him too. The rest of the role so far so good. I also like the FL acting as she looks cute & strong. Same goes to her father role really funny & caring father. I hope the remaining 10 episodes do not disappoint me or ends up draggy or just end up abruptly. Like most cdramas which I have watched mostly have very good & interesting start off then comes middle be very draggy and ends up like huh or meh??

In future any cdramas with Zhang Zhe Han sorry, I won't be watching it as his acting is so stiff. His acting skills is the same as actor Alan Yu Meng Long who acted in The Love Lasts Two Mind - please don't watch this cdrama as it is another boring & draggy cdrama. Certain cdramas has good storyline but don't have the right casting & certain cdramas has great casting but lousy storyline. Sigh!

Thanks for your review & feedback on Legend of Yun Xi. I just finished watching it therefore I can conclude that this drama is far better than The Bloom at Ruyi Pavilion. Luckily I watched Ruyi Pavilion first before Legend of Yun Xi or else I will drop Ruyi Pavilion.
I do agreed with you that Legend of Yun Xi starts off strong and the ending was like huh??? It doesn't make any senses at all. As you know most cdramas fans out there prefer happy ending so I guess this ending suits them well but not to our preferences. Lol
Another aspect that I don't like is the ML role, I find the ML acted by Zhang Zhe Han, his acting skill is forever stiff or wooden. Idk if you noticed his acting over here is like staring at empty space without any expression. I have watched a few of his cdramas like Demon Girl and Ruyi Pavilion and his acting skill remains the same. Sigh!
On the other hand, I prefer the supporting role that is Merxat Yalkun as Gu Zi Shao. At least Merxat's acting skill is far better than the ML ones. Besides that he is also good looking compared to the ML. Lol.
You have make the right decision of not watching Ruyi Pavilion. Ruyi Pavilion is made for those who shipped both ML & FL in Legend of Yun Xi other than that nothing great from this drama as it's far more boring than Legend of Yun Xi.

Seriously is this drama worst than The Bloom at Ruyi Pavilion? I have completed watching Ruyi Pavilion and I find that the whole drama is not that interesting besides the 2nd leading couple. Tbh I have not watched this Yun Xi yet but I read a lot of positive comments on this drama. It's very common for cdramas to have repetitive scenes and even worst the lousy voice dubbing. Btw I plan to watch this drama 'coz Merxat Yalkun & Hu Bing are both acting over here. Don't tell me both of these actors has sad ending roles as I always discovered Merxat always acted in sad ending drama. Sigh!

I read from Duboku, the viewers did criticize the whole story & even the characters in this drama is totally different from the novel version and they stated they preferred the novel version.
As for me, even though I did not read the novel version, I still like this drama story development.
Tbh. certain scenes or characters which exist in novel might not exist in drama as writing a novel is easier to develop it compared to acting it out e.g. Lord of the Rings, Harry Porter or Games of Thrones story which I discovered certain scenes happens in novel but does not take place in a movie or drama.
That's the differences between international viewers vs Chinese viewers. Lol

Personally I find this drama rather unique & interesting. Very different from the cdrama that I have watched most of the time. I guess this story is adapted from an anime novel 'coz the characters & roles in this story is very refreshing.
From episode 1-9 - I have to struggle to watch it as I did not read the anime novel on this story so I was a bit lost & confuse but from episode 10 onwards the story starts to pick up & every roles starts to develop.
For a non chinese to watch this drama without English subtitles is rather hard somehow I enjoy watching it and now I am at episode 26 and waiting for each episode to be released daily.
Great acting skills to all the newbie / rookies actors & actresses over here. Their acting skills are far better than those popular actors & actresses & great efforts to the production team as well for the impactful CGI effects. Well done & keep up the good work!

Finally I found someone who shared the same thoughts as me. Fully agreed with your above comments. The FL that is Zhao Li Ying has acted rather well in her role & I don't understand why audiences still wanted to pin-point at her acting skills or role over here. Whereas nobody picks any fault on the ML that is Wang Yibo. Personally I find both are great actor & actress who managed to bring up their role quite well. Credit have to be given to the FL despite her large age gap with the ML but I don't find this an issue and in fact I find that she is rather pretty and beautiful.

As for others supporting roles like the 2nd couples that is Li Sheng & Chu Chu and 3rd couple that is Li Yan & Chu Tian Yu, all of them are unique in their relationship.

What I like the most is the FL grandfather that is Li Zhang acted by Hu Bing - this man is one hot & sexy grandfather I have ever watched in cdramas. Lol.

Another thing that I have noticed is any cdramas which has long episodes which means more then 40 episodes ones needs to have a lot of patience to watch the development of story & characters in it. Even in the previous drama "Princess Agent" which was acted by Zhao Li Ying too the story on starts to be more interesting after 20 eps onwards.

Anyway the above are all my observations & opinions so if I have offended anyone over here, thousand apology.

@chengyi_yuki - thanks for your feedback. I am currently at ep. 4 and fully agreed with you this drama seems to be interesting. I mean the flow of the story & the development of the role. Hopefully this drama ends well regardless happy or sad ending and I also hope they don't rush ending it since it's a total of 50 episodes drama.

Love both Lee Dong Wook & Kim Bum over here. Everything is fine except the lack of chemistry between the ML & FL. Their skinship is not convincing to me even though I knew both have put a lot of effort to delivery their romantic role. The Imoogi role was too hard for me to hate him too. His appearances seems to look good & innocent too. But I like the Granny & his husband who keeps on bickering. The ending was a bit confusing to me as I am wondering did the ML has turned to human or still a fox spirit???

Thanks for the feedback. Indeed I am not really into Li Qin acting as most of the time she always acted in weak & fragile role e.g. The Wolf, Joy of Ride as Ms. Drumstick and even Princess Agent. The reason why I am afraid to watch drama which has heavy politics in the palace or harem conflicts coz most drama with this elements always tends to be very dry, draggy and full of dialogue. E.g. The Raise of Phoenix even though I like both Chen Kun & Ni Ni acting but this drama is just too heavy to watch. Another one is Royal Nirvana with Luo Jin & Li Yi Tong which also I like both acting but the storyline equally heavy. Sigh! I think I better skip this drama The Song of Glory as I prefer a bit more light hearted drama like The Moon Brighten for You concept.

Oh my! Merxat as forever always ended up with 2nd ML role and sadly his role always ended up sadly. I hope to watch Merxat acting in more reputable role and not always 2nd ML with sad ending. Sigh! Just wonder if this drama is really really worth watching 'coz it has total of 53 episodes which is long. Tbh I am not really a fan of the FL that is Li Qin that's why I am still doubting whether to watch it or not. Moreover I don't like that court or imperial court conflicts & turbulence especially it dragged for more than 10 episodes it will be very dry & draggy. Please do share with me your thoughts on this drama. Thanks!

Happy birthday to you. First time I see such "in", young and good looking director. Lol

This drama has combination of fake identity from HE to SHE, fake pregnancy which leads to fake marriage. Lol. Anyway since it's a 29 eps drama so I do not much comment on this drama. This drama is quite funny & cute. Initially I don't really fancy the ML - Xia Ning Jun @ Li Hongbin role but as the story flows, I starts to see the soft and romantic side of him. Btw he also looks quite similar to this Gummy's husband that is Jo Jung Suk. From fake to actual happenings. Overall this story is quite predictable and have happy ending even the OST for this drama sounds so cute & sweet too.

This drama is really dramatic fully of emotion and misunderstanding started with Si Feng misunderstanding against Xuan Ji feeling then later part of this drama it was Xuan Ji misunderstand Si Feng's intention. As usual those so called righteous sects are so blind and ignorant and cause so much suffering to Si Feng.
Overall this drama is quite fast pacing although it has few repetitive scenes but all these was being offset by the great acting skill by the castings. Like Bailin Dijun role even though we might hate him of keep on breaking up Si Feng & Xuan Ji but end of the day, I feel sorry for him. Others supporting role like Tang She is so cute & funny and same goes to Wu Zhi Qi role is rather impressive with the foxy Zhi Wu. Most of the castings managed to nail their role successfully. Then the CGI effects on this drama has improved tremendously compared to those earlier cdramas which we can see it was so fake.
Finally I like the OST for this drama too especially the ending OST song which was sang by Yisa Yu and Ayanga which has deeo meaning and suits this drama.
For those who are still wandering if this drama is worth watching with its 59 episodes then I would suggest you to watch it. Give it a try but be prepare with tissues if you are those soft heart 'coz there are many scenes which are heart-breaking.

Overall I find this drama is okay except one or two episodes in the middle a bit draggy. Personally I like the 2nd ML - Yu Ming Ye role more than the ML role - Jun Lin Yuan. I also feel they do not provide enough time to expose more on Yu Ming Ye role. Since this story already shown that the FL - Feng Wu does not belongs there hence I can accept the ending of this story. The FL needs to go back to where she belongs and not forever stuck at the place that does not belongs to here dimension. For those who has not watch this drama and still deciding whether to watch or not my advise is have an open mind and don't always narrow down that ML must ends up with FL then one will enjoy the whole story.

Not bad for a short cdrama as this drama has a total of 24 episodes which I am watching it RAW as there are no subs. I was surprised this drama has 2 sessions. 1st session from episode 1 to 12 & 2nd Session from episode 13 to 24. The story was okay for me as both ML & FL really shows great chemistry. One thing I noticed is the ML is very tall or the FL is rather short. And for once the ML does not have this girlish face looks like most cdramas ML. Opening & closing OST was nice to listen. For a low budget cdrama - I feel this drama is worth watching 'coz it's not draggy or boring. Oh! I like one of the supporting role played by a boy who is supposed to play a role of a thousand years old herbs, he is sooo cute & funny. Watch it if you have some time or you want to kill off your time.

Finally done watching this drama in raw. It starts off very funny but towards middle of the story it was a bit boring & draggy for me. Luckily it is only 24 episodes hence managed to pull it thru. Overall it's just below average drama for me. I can see this is a low budget drama therefore I don't have high expectations. Even the OST do not attract me besides the ML PA who is so funny and so called an expert in flirting with ladies & who always advise the ML on how to woo the FL that makes me continue to watch this drama. Anyway this drama is good for ones who wants to fill up the gap while waiting for long ongoing dramas.

Fully agreed with you on this drama FL stupidity or else it won't be that interesting to watch but imagine we have to watch her fooling herself till episode 28 then only realized that she is being dumb. It's just a waste of time like beating around the bushes all the time. Lol.
