Person Lee Jang Woo
where is this guy?
He’s busy outside of acting for the past few years. He does many long term variety shows (like Brewer Lee series), opened up restaurants, gotten married, etc.

Looks like he’s just enjoying life.

It’s not significance. It’s just math. You were the third person to submit your rating at the time. The first 2 rated 10 and you rated it 1 so the overall rating went to 7. You were 30% of the initial rating algorithm. That IS significant. I came to see why the rating was so low and found your rating. You single-handedly affected MDL’s readers who look at only ratings to see which shows to watch or skip. Generally, I will wait to watch shows rated below 8.0 to save time. I just happened to watch this show because I like the actors. I liked the first 2 episodes so I read your rating comments and disagreed. And now, here we are.

But you know how your low rating affects the overall rating. You’re intentionally (and in my opinion, unfairly) lowering the overall rating of the show. This initial rating affects the success (or failure) of the show. Why do that to a brand new show? Give it a fair chance. That’s all I’m saying.

You could have just aired your opinion and grievances in the comments section and held your rating until it really did go the route you presume would happen.

I’m just sharing my opinion so you don’t have to agree.

I just feel bad for all who worked hard to get this show aired.

I think it’s pretty good so far.

I usually wait a few episodes until I can form a solid opinion to write a review.

I did rate it high though. Thanks.

Why give it such a low rating in 2 episodes on points that are not real and haven’t happened?

I think this is mean and demeans the efforts and the hard work of everyone involved.

If such crazy plot is actualized, it’s not too late to criticize and drop it.

Don’t kill the drama’s ratings on assumptions.

These are solid, respectable veteran actors. I hope (and trust) they have sense enough to not be involved in such story plot. Give them a fair chance before you blast them.

In the US, you can watch it on ODK “On Demand Korea” app or website.

Not sure if there’s English subtitles.

Free account has a lot of ads.

EXO Kai is currently on a world tour so not on the show for a few weeks.

I am confused. If the first hotel is in Western Asia, why are all the staff European and not darker skinned?
They’re probably equating global 5-star worthy hotel as European (or “western) style hotel.

Yes! Someone else who feels that Wallace Chung's face is a bit off and his hair OMG somebody give that boy a decent…
But, I checked out his dance moves on YouTube and he has really good moves and rhythm. He should just stick to that.

He’s a much better dancer/stage performer than an actor. My first WC drama and it will be my last. I hated everything about him. I hated his hair, his hunched walk, his “fashion”.The FL was ok in the beginning but also became frustratingly annoying. The only “likable” characters to the end was Xue Rui and maybe chef Yin Xiang. All the villains were truly despicable and annoying. Li Meng is a standout villain like her princess character in The Double. I still can’t forget her character in TD. BUT, this is probably bad for her as she continues to get typecast as an almost psycho villain. She truly succeeded in creating such a hateful villain. I felt absolutely no sympathy nor empathy for her character even at the end.The drama was not horrible but it was painful to get through all the episodes. I wanted to stop again and again but endured through the end.Dumb ending.

It's very unlikely that it'll air this year.
But their exclusive actors are not on a hot streak as TXW is right now so if Youku wants to make money, they will find a way to take advantage of the current TXW popularity wave.

Instead of this, they should apologise for the scene of guys putting out fire using water buckets in a 21st century…
Yes, that was very annoying.

Also, the typo of "dynasyty" when Yi Wan was looking at his yongpo (King's robe) in the museum. I mean, seriously, do a thorough spellcheck if you're going to take a tight screen shot. smh

It’s literally fiction who cares if it’s accurate or not, jeez? Beside if they want “accuracy” in a fictional…
It's fiction based on historic premise. The Koreans want the historic part to be accurate since many viewers--especially non-Koreans--will assume that is accurate history.

If there are historic inaccuracies in other fictional dramas based on other cultures, I'm sure those citizens will complain as well.

It’s a fictional alternate universe where apparently the whole foreign occupation never happens either were…
The sensitivity to "Cheonse" vs "Manse" and the headpiece is not about the Japanese occupation. It's about being a tributary state, having the Korean king forced to kowtow to the Chinese emperor and having to get permission from the Chinese emperors when a new Korean king takes the throne. Manse (meaning the emperor lives ten thousand years) vs Cheonse (meaning the subordinate king lives one thousand years) is a very very big deal in Korean history.

King Injo (16th king of Joseon) had to endure Humiliation of Samjeondo. Ever since then, the word "cheonse" is a reminder of oppression for the Korean people.

This also played a big part in Joseon becoming the Korean Empire (Daehan Jaeguk) trying to thwart the Japanese Occupation. When the occupation ended, the Koreans all over the country shouted "manse". This is not a minor nitpicky thing by the Korean citizens and should not be mocked. It's deeply embedded in their culture and identity.
