When I see Im Ji Yeonās range of expressions, it really makes me think that, despite his young age, Choo Young…
I also agree to disagree. HNJ's deadpan, stiff, straight-forward delivery with the micro expressions plays off of IJY's over-the-top, overwhelming, max-expressions perfectly. It's his minimal expression that stands out and is memorable against IJY. I think he's absolutely holding his own and the chemistry will just explode more and more as the episodes go on.
I do agree that Choo Young Woo is great and I really enjoyed his dual role performance. But, I think HNJ is perfectly cast for this role. This drama is getting much more hype than Lady Ok. It's also one of the most-liked in Netflix currently (in the US) and there's a lot of buzz.
Yeahh! Did you also notice the jade ring she was wearing? Or how she roll her hair with a pencil or chopsticks…
Korean women have been using chopsticks and pencils to roll their hair (especially during college years) ā probably since Joseon era. lol
While the jade ring is often still worn by older Korean women to show off wealth and status, the chopstick is an everyday thing still for all Korean women.
Unfortunately she has been experimenting a lot on her face. She actually looked pretty decent with her natural…
Sheās getting older. Of course it will change. I donāt think itās ruined. Itās just aging.
As the above commenter said, I agree that what she does with her face and skin is her business. Sheās an actor and sheās acting well here. Just enjoy her performance and complement her on her acting merit. Iām sure she faces immense pressure all around to keep up with her fellow actors who are considered āprettierā than her in the industry. Sheās probably doing what she feels is best to put herself in the best situation.
Where I do agree natural beauty and aging is best, that is just my opinion. What she does for herself is up to her and we should not say she āruinedā anything. Thatās you pushing your opinion on another personās appearance and basically (reverse) body shaming.
I LOVE THIS DRAMA! It is so clever and funny. The throwback of Korean dramas from the past is incredibly clever and funny. I couldnāt stop laughing throughout episode 4. Itās one of the few dramas I am truly enjoying as I watch.
I liked Im Ji Yeon in the past but now I am a true fan after this. Her acting and tone is perfect for her character. Neither IJH nor the ml Heo Nam Joon are the pretty face weāve come to expect in the past few years but heās perfect for this role as well. Their chemistry is perfect. I canāt wait to see the rest of the drama!
PS - if youāre a slightly older Korean person, the past drama references are SO SO SO much more fun because it reminds us of our younger days when we watched these dramas and their impact on Korean culture since. But, the way they incorporated them here is perfect enough to make the drama fun for a new generation and for non-Korean audiences. Well done!
(PPS - Iām not discounting anyoneās experiences watching this drama so please donāt yell at me. Iām just expressing my enthusiasm for this drama which I am so thoroughly enjoying. Thanks!)
Why have i never seen lee hong nae in a drama before?? Where has this gorgeous man been all my life? Thank you…
He was typecast as villain characters for most of his career. Iām glad he has the chance to break that stereotype. Hopefully, heāll get more opportunities after this drama. I hope this drama will be successful.
what's sangyi's character problem? such an entitled person
His character is a control freak, entitled, competitive and self-centered. From the way he throws in English phrases and reactions frequently, he mustāve studied abroad and thinks of himself as an elite officer looking to climb the ladder asap.
Can you all seriously even speculate about the nature of the emergency for the frozen pollack?I am a good cook…
What pollack soup are you talking about?
He cooked seaweed soup with sea urchin. The ākickā was ground perilla seeds which the leader was allergic to. The dish is āsung geh mee yuk gookā with ādeul ggeh gah rooā.
itās kinda annoying that everyoneās so apprehensive around SJ when he could be depressed but he doesnāt…
I think the previous ones with similar answers and S class rating were seriously delusional and depressed. I think the group may have PTSD from the previous candidates. It was inferred in everyoneās reaction and response. But, I guess itās also to enhance the comedic storyline.
