Things are starting to pick up from Episode 10.

is it just me? I keep seeing Ro Woon’s face in HMH — especially in episode 11’s fight scenes.

Yeah, they have a similar smile with their sheepish eyes.I swear, he’s the only one I see in this whole show.…
Handsome, smart and stylish. 🥰

I’m probably biased but how is the rating only an 8.5 (yes yes it’s already considered good) when the comments…
Obsessed but realistic at the same time.

I’m having withdrawal symptoms with the Christmas break with no episode updates on both Viki and iQIYI. I watched all Thai Sweet episodes on iQIYI in one day.

I’m watching the variety show “Thai Sweet” with Esther and He Yu and they are REALLY cute together. ❤️

It took me over 10 attempts to get through the first 3 episodes. I managed to get to episode 9 but I really don’t get the hype of this drama yet.

It’s my first drama with HMH and LYX so I will push through to see if it gets better but so far it’s a dud for me.

The secondary characters are more interesting than the ML and FL characters.

Title Idol I
So far, it's great! Refreshing story and great acting. It's been a while a K-drama hooked me in in the first episode. I'm really looking forward to the rest of this drama.

Soo Young finally gets to flex her acting muscles more with a good story and fitting character. I hope this is the breakout drama for both Soo Young and Jae Yeong. They deserve it!

Loved the scene between Sena and Do La Ik where his foul mouthed tirade completely shatters Sena's idealistic view of him. It was funny, poignant and real.

Look forward to the next episode. I hope the quality stays high.

Really rooting for Soo Young and Jae Yeong!

Everytime she appears on the screen, i think about that. Not only her body, but also her outfits.
I really like her outfits and styling. Not crazy about all her hair pins but ok. Both leads have incredible bodies for this drama.

I know how hot and sticky Bangkok gets so understand her outfit choices. She looks great and she knows how to accentuate and flaunt her best features. Good for her.

Her singing and dancing is enjoyable as well. She is definitely talented in dancing.

You're not alone. Pretty much everyone's watching for Jin Zhao. He's the one hard carrying the entire drama and…
Just my pov, I don’t hate her. I really enjoyed most of her dramas and I think she is really sweet and cute. However, she is not a “great” actress. She is very good at what she’s good at. That’s more than enough. She fills the niche really, really well.

When she’s acting alone or others in this drama, she is fine. It’s just her interaction with He Yu that seems awkward. Maybe they’re not that close or comfortable with each other (like she was with her other past co-stars).

Her crying scene was good.

Esther Yu really made everyone cry with her acting. She is really one of the best actresses. I don't know how…
I teared up when she was wailing. But, respectfully, I would not go as far as “one of the best actresses.” I don’t hate her. I really like her. But, I’m genuine and realistic in my opinions. But, again, it’s my personal opinion. ymmv

Esther was good at the start of the drama but her portrayal seems awkward when they’re interacting—especially their kiss love scenes. I know she’s supposed to be young in this drama, but as others mentioned, she is so stiff and forced in the the kiss scenes. Maybe it’s due to censorship limitations but it’s getting worse with every episode. it doesn’t feel natural.

I’m continuing to watch for He Yu’s performance. He really is the breakout star in this drama. I saw some promo videos and his real life personality seems SO different. He looks and acts like a different person. He looks much more immature and younger in real life. So, I give him credit for great acting in S&L. His portrayal is on fire!

It's just me or sometimes Son Jong-won looks similar to Lee Jung-jae (Squid game)?? So cool😂😂
Yeah, they have a similar smile with their sheepish eyes.

I swear, he’s the only one I see in this whole show. I hope he survives for a while.

I love seeing him in “Please Take Care of My Refrigerator” - a K-cooking variety show. It’s such a fun show to watch.

This show is pretty interesting. It talks about famous people's lives and their cause of death and possible illnesses. It's not a serious documentary--it's a bit sensational and fun. I recommend watching it if you can find it streaming.

Overall I’m enjoying this. I still have to laugh when she said “I was exiled to New York!” Awww poor baby.…
NY can be very lonely and depressing without a support system by you.

(I get your sarcasm though)

Update after episode 4:
I am really liking this drama now. I didn't like it in the first 2 episodes but now that they are explaining their past and the issues she's had in her life then, things are falling into place.

It's a slow burn drama. And as the Korean title "Waiting for Gyeongdo" alludes, it's a play on "Waiting for Godot"--a classic play in the "Theatre of the Absurd" style. I think it will make you think about all the past mistakes you've made in relationships and why some things didn't work out. I don't think there's a right or wrong answer. It's an adult love story about imperfect people.

Yes, the flashbacks are a little annoying, but that's the style of the drama and the screenwriter. It also reminded me of "What Comes After Love"--which was also slow burn with flashbacks.

I am a native Korean speaker so maybe some things are lost in translation in the subtitles. To me, their banter is amusing and quick-witted. It also portrays 2008 Korea quite well.

Anyway, I think it's too early to determine that it's bad. I think it's quite good. The ending of episode 4 is where the story really begins and now I'm really looking forward to the next episode.

If you're easily frustrated, wait until all episodes have aired but I think it's worth watching.

I was quite touched by this drama and was able to empathize with the characters. Not all drama has to be a full fledged in-depth dramatic turn with explicit character development.

I think the leads had enough chemistry and enjoyed some of the ironic moments.

I think Hyo Joo did an exceptional job as a Korean actress speaking and acting in a foreign language. She conveyed the character well and drew a good picture of her situation and the path to overcome what she wanted to overcome.

The male lead and second leads were both fun to watch and entertaining. They were both charming in their way and also conveyed their stories well.

It was not a masterpiece of a drama but I was touched and healed. I don’t think it’s a forgettable drama.
