I heard her voice in "stop, miss hua", it was little different from here. π
It was the only voice I found really odd compared to the rest of the cast. Maybe she was unable to dub it herself during those times? My sister on the other hand absolutely loves the dubbing. I was shocked when I first heard it, but got used to it later on. Still wish they used her original voice.
To be honest they could've ended everything on episode 33 and leave the remaining to clear all misunderstandings…
Xiaoju was too slow with her responses. The book's ending makes sense now. LSY went overseas after he saw her hug Cheng Lang. (They cut this scene off, but it was posted in early August in YT shorts. So, it implies that Shiyi never got a direct answer from her, or that he assumed she was using him to get over Cheng Lang, then decided to leave.) I don't know why... they released 10 clips out of which three of them are scenes that could give us a hint of Xiaoju's developing feelings for Shiyi. They cut all that off and now we are left with this. And pretty sure LSY might've cleared the misunderstanding with Cheng Lang. He was just pissed with Xiaoju. Honestly, it was Cheng Lang doing all the explaining and clearing up their mess.
This drama took the whole 36 episodes to get the main leads together and that's too much to be honest
It's better if we see this drama as a story of five friends together even though the focus is on the main leads. Then it makes a lot of sense. (Cheng Lang, Shiyi, Xiaoju, and Tao Tao in college.) If we look at them individually, or focus on the main couple, it becomes highly dissatisfying. The same thing happens in a lot of dramas like Lovely Us and Reply 1988. (In those, they get together only at the very end.)
Could've been much better. I'm still deciding whether to change this to an 8.5. (Which makes sense, but this one was waay better for me than several high rated ones in MDL released this year.) They wasted a lot of screentime and dragged on Xiaoju's crush longer than necessary. It should've wrapped up around EP 20 or 24 so that they could gradually transition the main lead's relationship. Using time skips to smooth over the bumps was good, but I'm pretty sure many of us aren't convinced. Xiaoju herself was an emotionally driven character who set me at my wits end with her rather slow growth/realization. (Tao Tao was a supporting character, but she had a stronger plotline than Xiaoju.) I can see why so many people wanted the "not fairy tale ending" cause they would've had to rush it - which was exactly what they did.
And cutting off scenes didn't help and never gave it a satisfying closure. I can't believe that Youku put them behind a paywall. I needed this drama to finally convince me how bad they are at business.
This drama had some of the most lovable, believeable and unforgettable characters I've seen for a Chinese Youth Drama. Not to mention the excellent cast (ARRTI deserves a 10/10 for acting alone) who had a lot of potential. Otherwise, I would have dropped this long ago.
They only got together in the last scene of the last episode. This is even real? One of the most stupid Female…
I expected this right from the very start. Despite being advertised with only two main leads, this drama looks more like a slice of life story of five friends. People on Weibo kept dropping the drama cause this is exactly what most writers pull with the script - last minute happy ending while the push and pull lasts till the very final episode.
It's sort of gradual. But, to point out a certain episode, then I'd say that she gets over/stops chasing her crush around Ep27 after a timeskip. Then, there is a push and pull + some events that lasts till EP33 or 34. By then things get 'clear' for the female lead.
Agree, i think the drama will focus on lsy and xxj in the remaining 4 eps. Most of the side characters already…
I don't even want many sweet scenes with each other. Just for XJ to slowly take her time and sort out her emotions, giving us a proper closure. If they rush it, this drama would be no different from many other youth dramas out there .
I love Zheng Ye Cheng's performance here! First time seeing a ML legit thinking he is crazy and acts exactly like he lost his marbles after that incident. And I think the FL is acting weird cause she forgot everything that happened. She is 'empty'. From what I understood: 1. She disappeared on the night of Supermoon (that occurs once in ten years) of 2011. 2. She reappears in the future - 2021's supermoon after ten years without having any memory. 3. ML will try to find out her past and help her. The rest... we'll have to find out by ourselves.
Actually it bored me to death when they showed too much of supporting characters. I'm sorry but I am mainly watching…
Well, they better get her "confusion" cleared cause there are not many episodes left to solve the 'abroad' crisis as well. There are some scenes between SY and XJ yet to air and I clearly remember seeing one in which he is leaving in a car while she she is having her back turned towards him. They'll have to rush it.
In the live stream, they were so lively and funny. I really enjoy their live stream. I was just wondering since…
Seems like it. Cause the trailer and the cast list tells us that. Better Baobao than HJ. And it makes it more realistic. It could be something else too. The wedding scene looks like someone else's wedding and not XJ's. Shiyi and she were probably guests there.
Most of the viewers are unhappy with the pacing of the drama, even those who watched complete episodes. Not because the leads aren't together - they can take their own time with that. But, it's generally a trend in most dramas to give a rushed happy ending, which is what might happen and which is why so many fans are unhappy and prefer the book's ending. There are four main leads who have equal screentime and with the parents and family scenes included, something has to take place faster. Even the lead actress acknowledged that the XJ plotline was long. (The drama changed a lot from the book apparently from reviews I read.) I've watched 32 episodes without subtitles even though I do not know Mandarin. EP 27 - EP 32 focussed on two plotlines, so I am expecting some progress in the Main lead's thread in the remaining four episodes.
The cast did a live stream and Bao Bao's actor told everyone to hang on till the end and not drop it as there was a surprise coming up. (I'm really, really hoping that he finally reappears! He was such a fun character.) Here is the twitter thread: https://twitter.com/yueyuans/status/1430871046400339973 On a sidenote, the complete cast list of ARRTI had been updated way back earlier in August and it had MAJOR spoilers. But, since I suspect some of them are true, here is the page: https://zh.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E4%B8%8A%E6%B8%B8_(%E9%9B%BB%E8%A6%96%E5%8A%87)

I actually didn't care about the appearance of the sudden characters. I also expected scenes of the supporting cast cause so far, all characters are given equal importance. Ho estly, the novel is kind of depressing. But, right now if I'm feeling bad for any character, it's Cheng Lang and Tao Tao. Both Shiyi and Xiaoju ned a break from each other to sort out their turbulent emotions. But, we barely saw what was going on in their end in EP32. And their funny friendship is kind of gone now too. They'll have to rush the ending if they want a happy one. I want to see some actual realization of feelings from Xiaoju's part. Right now, she is inadvertently hurting Shiyi. And herself as an extension. I can imagine how bad CL will feel if he comes to know that all these things happened behind his back. He and Tao Tao are more resolute when it comes to what the heart wants. Right now, after watching 32 episodes, it's clear that Xiaoju doesn't want to let Shiyi go. But, for how long is this going to go on? He seems to be pissed off with her at the end of EP31 though I don't know why. It's really like a 'push and pull' relationship right now. Shiyi looks like he is pining for someone who doesn't like him and Xiaoju is indecesive. I hope enough screentime is given for the Main leads' cause it's their story that is hanging now.
I really like everything about this drama. Except the "push" and "pull" relationship thats going on in the last few episodes. There is a time skip to 2002 in EP27 and the tone of the drama shifts. I understand why XJ is acting the way she is, but with only four episodes remaining... and significant screentime and importance given to all characters, how are they going to come to a closure? Or will we have another time skip in EP33? If we aim for a realistic ending, its the book's ending - the author wrote a weibo post explaining in detail why she chose it. If we aim for the drama ending, I hope they wrap things up properly. (Shoutout for Qiu Letao and Xiaoju's two roommates. Their friendship is gold. Also, Cheng Lang and Shiyi and Huang Jun.)
