I tried watching Lovely Us but I fell asleep at Episode 1. But since it's in the top ten, I'm pretty sure it's…
I read two chapters of the novel. The backstory of one of the male leads is actually a bit serious. And I'm sure that it can get past censorship - the novel is like a healing journey. Glad that you are excited for it. :) (Most people look forward to the more popular works that are rumored to land in Q3. This is iQiyi and sort of Modern Fantasy, so the CGI might be good.) And I'd love to co-write! :D But, unfortunately my family is moving to a new place sometime in September. So, I'm not even sure I'll be having a proper internet connection. Thanks for asking, though. I feel honored. :D

Yep. They go to college in EP 9 it seems. I began it for Richards Wang. :D My first CDrama was The Eternal Love, but compared to how the other stars of the drama are faring, he is kind of underrated even now. I haven't watched the Long Ballad yet, but my sister did and called me over to see the "dance" episode. So, I saw him as King of Mobei. :D Hope he gets a boost from Seizing Dreams or his other future works.
Tuesday to Friday, four episodes per day with English subtitles in YOYO English Channel. Sunday to Wednesday in YOYO Funstation Channel with machine subs in various languages.

I really enjoyed the first four subtitled episodes! :D Its funny, relatable and nostalgic even if it's nothing new. The story happens in 1997 and the characters are in their final year of high school. (The actors really brought them to life.) They're going to enter their college years within the next 10 episodes. This drama has 30, so I have no idea how the quality of this show would fluctuate after that.
Ohh, I didn't know that. Can you link me to the BTS? I'm wondering how much of it was done on green screen because…
https://youtu.be/aHcHi8Tz8AM Around 1:38 mark. I made a mistake, they did it with a blue screen. If we watch the whole Nightless scene BTS, it's makes me doubt if they shot it piece by piece for several days. Then jumbled it up.

Just watched EP1 and a few clips. It's not "very serious". But, the leads are 'seriously' into each other. And it deals with not so fluffy stuff, especially from the ML's side. And the leads really know what they want. It looks really sweet and calming. Maybe I'll check it out after I'm done completing my watchlist. Thanks, ChoNa. :) (I was shocked that they began the drama with their marriage. I usually watch those 'I-don't-know-I-like-you' kind of school dramas. They are out of fashion and is an overused trope these days. Like the Currently Airing River Runs Through it -Where everyone are pretty dumb and don't think too much, but they're still happy being themselves. :D ) And Forever Love is still kind of underrated. For a drama with so many +ve reviews, its views on YT are low for a drama uploaded on Tencent's official channel.
I don't mean this in an offensive way but the actors look and act very old/mature for HS students, so much so…
The nostalgia is really similar to Lovely Us. But, the cast of both Lovely Us and River Runs TI are about the same age. (Around 1996 - 1997 - the main male leads at least.) I didn't feel the age factor much. I did notice that "height difference" is more pronounced in this one. The cast looks more like HS students than some other dramas that I've seen. Ofcourse, it might be personal preference. I felt that the cast of Le Coupe De Foudre was more mature, but they acted really well and it was necessary for the story.
I checked out first two episodes for Richard Wang. Are you sure he is ml? The story seems to focus on the main…
I'm 100% sure that the SML/crush guy isn't going to get the girl for sure. It's obvious that the crush guy is getting involved because of Lu Shiyi. He is friendly, yes. But, he isn't "too much" concerned about her.
I agree 100% with the last sentence of your comment. The drama ends with that scene. But, I don't know if the…
No doubt, FL has to come to know who the Boss is. Only then would the opening scene make sense. It also explains why her old phone (broken - maybe we'll find out how it broke in the latest episodes. Who knows? Maybe breaking it returned him back to the original timeline? In one of the episodes, when FL used it to break open the walnuts, he was the one going about here and there.) was at ML house. It shouldn't be there in the first place. It clearly tells that it was the ML who had had the phone with him. The Boss. But, this situation and the ending seems to be the 'time loop' style. FL would've to somehow break out of it. Maybe him forgetting the whole while trying to time travel back into the future is a repercussion of some sort. Same goes for the FL. But, the trailer did say about finding each other again and falling in love all over again, justifying the title. Really curious to see the ending. This is a really good time travel drama. Keeps you at your toes.
I would like to have other posters's opinion:- in the first episode, the ML is doing a scientific conference about…
I agree 100% with the last sentence of your comment. The drama ends with that scene. But, I don't know if the ML still retains his memory or if it gets wiped off. But, if it's wiped off, that'd make total sense. He manipulated the past too much to get back to his original timeline. Unless he disappears in one of his "other timeline travel", there is no way that he could go back to his original one. But, Xia Wen Xi might still remember that all? He sort of made a butterfly effect when he changed their meeting. But, when he got hit with the car, he lost his memories again and has no idea about asking for her phone or anything. Once he returns to his 2019 at the beginning of EP1, it makes sense why he doesn't remember Xia Wen Xi, but she does. Amd about Grandpa, she knew him even before Ye You Ning's arrival. He was the one who fixed her phone, starting all the events. Edit: this was why I thought the drama had parallel dimensions/timeline theory. When the ML travelled back to 2006 in EP1, it was during his own timeline. He manipulated the past and got hit by the car, forgetting everything that had happened which concerned the phone/basketball game. But, he instead time travelled to another timeline, still keeping in touch with the 2006 Xia Wen Xi. When he returns back to his original one, he isn't aware that anything had happened. Cause when he got hit by the car, the memories of time travel got wiped out. Thats my tentative theory before watching the final episodes.
I hope someone here is a VIP at Iqiyi then and will post the ending for those of us who love to be spoiled.
Funny, I knew that this had to be the ending. Otherwise, the story would probably have to take some illogical turn like "it's all a dream" to explain the time travel. I'm glad they didn't do that.
What a wonderful article! I have to put in, that Shijie dying scene was shot with a green screen during some other time and then they added the background later. (I saw the BTS clip somewhere.) It's better to not watch that scene closely. I noticed that the same person kept getting thrown back during the whole conversation between the siblings as a result. Then, in the shot where they sort of had a scene focussing on Wei Ying from all sides while he was playing the flute after going mad... its the same scene being repeated multiple times from different angles. I read an article for a low budget drama in which someone told that they used a lot of "indoor" shots to prevent such things from happening. Now, that I read your article, I finally get what the writer meant.
So, who's inside the Bear Mascot? ^_^1. Friend of Wen Xi's father2. It's just for comedic effect3. Wen Xi's father4.…
I thought it could be Ye You Ning himself. (The grown up version? From some other timeline?) The bear might be for comedic effect too. Or it could be someone related to the Grandpa?

My sister too, slept while watching the 1st episode. Slice of life dramas have that kind of effect, but they are often the ones which are the most highly rated. Nope, I don't mind spoilers. I actually read your article on Forever Love. :) But, everyone seems so serious in it. Which was why I never really watched it.
Really wonderful article, Cho Na! Personally, my top picks are ITSAY and Lovely Us. There was something so real and raw about the portrayal of daily school life, pressure of exams and family. (Le Coup De Foudre follows closely behind.) The others are more fluffy and light. Enjoyed Weight Lifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo a lot, though! Haven't checked out Prince of Tennis, Reply 1997 and Forever Love yet.
I hope the quality doesn't drop. That is my only worry, since it has 36 Episodes. This is probably the only drama that managed to punch the "childhood nostalgia" the right way after Lovely Us (2020). Not to mention the realistic early 2000s and late 1990's setting.
(Most people look forward to the more popular works that are rumored to land in Q3. This is iQiyi and sort of Modern Fantasy, so the CGI might be good.)
