The corporate backstabbing brother and tough mother plot line is pretty boring and generic. But the main leads are fun so it might be worth watching for now.
Honestly they wasted Qing Xia's character with Shu Wen Bo. She too pretty and normal to have to deal with this almost 30 year dude acting like an autistic middle schooler. What an infuriating character. No one is that obtuse when it comes to basic romantic interaction.
I'm looking for something to watch and noticed that a lot of Chinese dramas are centered around video games.
It was a big trend a couple years back where esports became as big as the ML being a CEO or other tropes. Then there are all the video game programmers like in the HL or TFF. It’s probably easier to use video games programming to show what the ML does than making them a DevOps, cloud or backend engineer that is too technical to explain simply.
This show the first 15 episodes are way to video game heavy, then the esports aspect falls away. You need to either power through that or fast forward through it cus it is legitimately boring.
One of the worst pieces of writing is how Jin Mu is still around. Songrim, the main cast, the king, queen and everyone around knows his direct involvement with the Choi siblings and the soul transfers but he isn’t implicated. He’s literally doing everything out in the open and everyone suspects him but he’s gotten a promotion in s2. The least believable part of the story.
5 episodes in and this is legitimately boring. Way too much of this video game nonsense. Less is more sometimes. The viewer doesn't need to know about what items to buy for a fictional game character. I'm just fast forwarding now hoping there is anything more to this show than the esports/gaming aspect. Also the dubbing on this show is horrible.
I like the show but I don’t really like any of the young residents. They all have terrible or annoying personalities. The older residents or the professors are much better characters.
Episode 17 is such a heavy episode. What a performance by the FL and the best friend. If nothing else all the actors in this drama really make you believe in the performances.
Hospital playlist was less about the medicine and more about 5 friends who happened to also be surgeons. I doubt this show will be able to replicate the charm of the original as it’s more of a medical drama with a cast that’s together because of the hospital rather than 2 decades worth or friendship.
I think we all kinda already know this is gonna be a flop. The synopsis reads like something from the 2010's and these 2 leads already failed in Hierarchy.
