I hope the series ends with a happy ending for both couples. Everyone says it will have an unhappy ending because of the director’s past work, but I don’t think the director wants to be that predictable.
im so annoyed by that ending, i hate this amnesia trope
At least it wasn’t an open-ended ending. The main couple remembered each other and reunited in the end. In shows like this, the woman usually returns to the modern world and runs into the man, but it’s never clear whether he remembers her or not. I’m glad they didn’t go that route. But they made the male character suffer for no reason.
When I looked into his filmography, I realized he’s an actor whose talent was truly recognized through the series *My Journey to You*, just like Lu Yu Xiao. Before this series, he had only appeared in short-form series. It’s truly incredible that a single series could produce two such talented actors. I think Cheng Lei’s historical dramas are very successful. I hope he stars in more historical dramas.
As soon as I read the synopsis of the series, the final 30 seconds of the finale played out in my mind. I hope the finale doesn’t turn out like the one in *Scent of Times*. In my opinion, if coming from the future isn’t a crucial detail in time-jump series like this, the writers should just cut it out. In many series, the time jump is only significant in the first episode and isn’t even mentioned again. Despite that, due to censorship regulations, everything goes to waste in the finale.
Can someone who has read the novel say whether it has a happy ending?
I think logically it should have a happy ending. In past generations, couples have always failed in their relationships. I think if it has a happy ending, the series will fully achieve its purpose.
I think it would have been better if the main male character always walked around in a mask. or rather, it would have been better if he played only one character. I don't like it when characters in dramas hide their real character and play 2 characters.
I'm only in the first episode, but I like the show. They always used to cast the main female character in naive roles in other series. I find her role in this series more substantial and fitting, to be honest. No matter how much I liked her other shows, I used to get annoyed by the character she portrayed.
