so healing <3

honestly i wasn’t expecting much but from the very first episode, i found myself crying with the female lead. her pain felt real, not overacted or exaggerated, just raw and honest. the way they portrayed grief really stayed with me. it didn’t try to glamorize it, just showed it for what it is.

i’m in my early 20s, and lately i’ve been feeling like time is slipping away from me. i always feel like i should be doing more, that i should already have things figured out. i worry a lot, about what’s next, about what I haven’t done yet and it makes it hard to just be in the present.

i moved to the city for school, and since i’m a pre-med student, going home isn’t something i get to do often. my days are usually packed, early morning classes, skipped breakfasts, long nights spent studying. i’m constantly busy, but deep down, i feel like i’m just going in circles. that line from Dou about feeling like the hand of a clock, always moving forward but with no real direction really hit home. it felt like she was speaking for me.

this drama made me pause for the first time in a while. it reminded me that i don’t need to have everything figured out right now. i’m still young. i have time. there’s no need to rush through life like every day is a deadline. we never really know what tomorrow brings, and maybe that’s okay. maybe it’s enough to just live one day at a time.

what i loved most about this drama is how real it felt. it didn’t just focus on the leads, it gave space to the other characters and their own stories. everyone was going through something, and the show gave each of them a chance to heal. it felt less like watching a scripted show and more like witnessing the lives of people i could actually know. people like us, who are lost, tired, and just trying to make it through each day.

i also loved how the main leads' relationship wasn’t rushed or overly romanticized. it grew naturally, and it was rooted in mutual healing. nothing felt forced, it was slow and steady.

if you’re in your 20s, or even 30s or 40s, and you’ve been feeling tired or unsure about where life is going, i really recommend this drama. it serves as reminder that it’s okay to slow down. that you don’t have to keep moving just for the sake of moving.

after watching it, i’ve decided to take a short break before my final year of school. i didn’t realize how much i needed that pause until i watched this drama. we all deserve to enjoy life and not just survive it. maybe i’ve been moving so fast, i forgot that i’m not running out of time.

personal take only!!

OKAY FIRST OFF! ZHANG LINGHE IN MODERN DRAMAS WAS CHEFS KISSSS!! he was just perfect. he healed me in ways i didn’t even know i needed. he’s the kind of guy every eldest daughter would dream of!! patient, understanding, reliable, and someone who makes you feel completely safe and cared for. the drama was so calming, like the kind of show you’d watch on a rainy day with a hot cup of chocolate.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8, “love never fails.” this sums up the drama so well !! it shows how love endures through all the challenges ❤️‍🩹

also, since i studied Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) during my second year in pharmacy school, it was so fun hearing all the TCM references. it made the show feel even more relatable and unique.

just a heads up, this is my personal take!

started watching: june 2

this drama is so painfully realistic, i was literally bawling the moment they said goodbye, like why didn’t they just try to make it work? why didn’t they fight harder? why didn’t they say, “let’s at least try”? and yet… i know EXACTLY WHY. i hate that i understand. i hate that their reasons make sense, cause sometimes love alone isn’t enough. sometimes letting go is the only way to protect what you had. there were these moments when one of them would glance at the other when they weren’t looking, just to memorize them one last time or when they tried to smile even when everything inside them was crumbling.

today is june 7
and i just finished watching it last night (june 6) but i couldn’t bring myself to review it right away. i still feel so empty. it’s like i left a piece of myself in that drama.

as much as i loved WIFTY (my top 1), Be Passionately in Love hit me on an entirely different level. yes, WIFTY was perfect, comforting, beautifully written but Be Passionately in Love was imperfect in the most human way. and maybe that’s exactly why i loved it even more. it wasn’t trying to be flawless. it was messy, it was complicated, it was emotional. it showed love in its rawest, most vulnerable form.

a lot of people online were saying the female lead ruined the drama by not allowing kissing scenes but honestly? that didn’t bother me at all. not one bit. because the chemistry was still so alive. the tension. the yearning. the way they looked at each other like the world had stopped moving. the flirting. the way their eyes said everything their lips never had to. THAT did it for me. especially Wang Anyu’s eyes, the way he stares, like he’s holding back lifetimes of pain and love all at once… tore me up fr.

what i appreciated most was how the story didn’t drag their pain forever, it resolved their traumas. it was so intentionally paced, healing happened at the right moments, not too early, not too late. everything fell into place like it was meant to.

i didn’t even realize i was crying at first. deep down, i recognized that kind of ache. that fear of letting love in, only to possibly lose it again... hits a little too close.

i love this so much it hurts ;(

thought i wouldn’t vibe with this one because of all the angst (i usually go for lighter romance), but WOW, i was so wrong. i ended up loving it. the OST? the vibes? PERFECTTT.

“to be loved is to be known, to be waited for, and to be UNDERSTOOD” !!

loving yifan came easy, but waiting for her and truly understanding her struggles, especially when she couldn't express them herself was a whole different level of commitment. that takes so much patience and love bruuuuh SANG YAN BEST BOY NO QUESTION!

a good watch!

what really hooked me with this drama was the unique concept, it was refreshing to see a cdrama about snowboarding! it was really interesting to see how they incorporated it into the story. the drama itself was super chill and i loved how it didn’t feel rushed or forced.

sometimes, having someone beside you is all you need to help heal and rediscover parts of yourself you thought were lost. it was such a warm and uplifting story that made me think about how we all need a bit of healing, whether from the people we love or FROM OURSELVES.

I LOVE ITTTTT

this was so cozy and TBH it changed my perspective on relationships. the way they’re each other's constant support system throughout the whole story is so SOOOO 🫶🏻 watching their bond grow made me realize how important it is to have someone who truly gets you and is always there for you.

duan jiaxu didn’t deserve anything that happened to him. he’s such an amazing person and i’m so happy sang zhi was there to show him his worth and helped him heal. it was so heartwarming to see how she brought out the best in him ❤️‍🩹

my top 1 cdrama <3

honestly didn’t expect much going into this but BOY WAS I WRONG. the friendship, the cinematography? the soundtrack? CHEFS KISSS 💋 this gave me nostalgic vibes and made me long for a friend group like theirs, where u can share everything, and be vulnerable. i loved how the story showed their growth over the years. it made me think about the kind of people i want to surround myself with.

zhang lurang ILYYYYY, you are more than enough. just like su zaizai said, you’re 101 marks over 100, because that extra +1 will always be hers, and that’s what makes you even more special.
