If this is a 12 episode show and there are two main couples, that means Ep 4 is the last "honeymoon" episode and Ep 5 is when they start having problems/fights. Hoping to see more of their acting chops then.
Aston reminds me of Almond (which is totally not a bad thing at all). Luke is cute. Unfortunately, I've seen so many people who look like Mick back in college, he doesn't stand out particularly for me.
As for their acting, I'll give it the three-episode rule.
I'm an equal opportunity enjoyer. If I can like My Golden Blood because of the plot (translation: Joss' ****), then I can like this show for the insane face cards.
This really deserved a 10/10 but currently I'll give it a 9.5 because there's two sides of me arguing right now:
"They wrote themselves into a corner! What's going on with Pemika, did she take a couple of edibles for the last episode? You can practically hear her ass screw itself tighter with every step she takes! Why would she let her artists just go rogue??"
"Look man, can't you just be happy and accept a happy ending?"
So until these two sides of me reconcile, 9.5 it is.
I'm cackling like a gay supervillain right now, gloating over my collection of boys: GeminiFourth, SkyNani, and soon, soon WilliamEst will be mine! HAHAHAHAHA~
If this show sticks its landing next week It'll be the easiest 10/10 and I'll gladly shill for it up the mountains and down the sea. This ain't just a value meal, it's a banquet.
The irony of showcasing the dangers of parasocial relationships is that the very people who are experiencing it will rationalize it away even if its being depicted right in front of them.
Then there's the double irony of talking about it on a website that is tacitly fueled by the parasocial relationships the fans have with their Asian celebrities.
(Then then there's the triple irony of me talking about this knowing that I have formed a parasocial relationship with Fourth lmao)
At the start, Jun was just his usual chaotic self, stirring shit up but knowing what's the real deal. Un/fortunately he developed feelings. Clearly though, he backed out for his friend once he heard it directly from Thame. He never stood a chance, that's why I think people are rooting for him, because he's the underdog in this situation, and everyone's had an unrequited love buried deep in their closets.
