Maybe they're conflating romance with companionship, and yeah that's a totally teenager thing to do. I just want to see the tipping point when their homosocial relationship becomes homosexual.

I'm okay with slow burn, my concern is if they need a season 2 to get to that part, and there's no guarantee that a season 2 will happen at all (RIP Stay with Me).
