I went to watch her livestream after I saw your comment. I completely agreed with almost all of the points she made. You can clearly see all of the detail put into this drama that made it an unexpected success. The directing, script, editing, and special fx only enriched the actors/actresses’s acting! It’s true that this drama has a simple plot (that in hindsight is similar to other xianxia dramas I suppose,) but it was done extraordinarily well. I think Dylan and Esther’s portrayal of each of their characters is amazing. This drama is very addictive!!

I didn't even realize Dylan's voice was dubbed in the drama, well since I'm not familiar with his voice anyway. (this is my first time watching one of Dylan's dramas) But I agree that the voice actor did a exceptional job. The voice matched beautifully with Dylan's acting. Wow!

That would be me! I was just bored one day and put this on and then one thing led to another and now I'm in love with DFQC. And XLH is so cutesy! Great drama.

Is there a reason c-dramas tend to use dubbing instead of the actual actors/actresses's voices? I've always been curious about this. Does it have to do with the different dialects or something?

Yes. I tend to skip parts if I get bored too but with this drama I actually binge-watched it within 4 days until the latest episode. Now we play the waiting game... but yeah something to look forward to at least.

Same. I haven't watched any of Esther or Dylan's previous dramas before this one but now I'll have to keep my eye out on each of their future works! I really love their portrayal of DFQC and XLH!

I just started watching it because I was bored one day but it turned out to be so good.

This is my first xianxia drama because I prefer historical c-dramas that are about mortals and revolve around mortal things, (for example, I love c-dramas like 'The Romance of Tiger and Rose') BUT this drama absolutely blew my mind! The whole immortal thing and flying around using powers and cultivation lingo just doesn't seem to interest me at all, but 'Love Between Fairy and Devil' makes it all so interesting and fun. I think Dylan and Esther are perfect for their roles. I especially like Dylan's facial expressions and "eye acting." The sound track is quite good too. My personal favorite ost from this drama is 'Looking for you' by Liu Yu Ning because the emotions in this song play so well with DFQC's love and affection towards XLH.
