so i read the novel and i didn't think joe was that much of an idiot, the problem is that the novel is very long,…
I feel like zhou Xiang had no way of knowing Ming’s thinking in the novel. That made him appear less deluded, BUT the reveal was so much worse for him.
My social media know I like looking at BL actors. TikTok even suggested a dating site to meet Asian men. Funny/not funny because I don’t believe in dating a person because of their ethnic or national origin (because as a POC I know what it feels like to be collected).
Social media also knew I was thinking about getting a dog again. So 1/2 men and 1/2 dog/puppy stuff comes up.

No nothing big happens to that MF.... Since he was already a part of the family, he didnt face major consequences.…
Agree. But life isn't fair. Maybe he will be angry with himself and doubt his judgment for the rest of his life...who am I kidding? Ming loves himself too much for that fate.
I may get hate for this, but I really like Ming as a character. I don't like how he treats Joe, and I do think…
I said before (as I try to catch up with days worth of comments) that I appreciate that Ming is more vulnerable in the show. I agree that he isn't just a one-note tsundere red flag.
Exactly, 💯 People should understand the boundaries...
That's why I had to read the book quickly before the show came out. If you saw the comment right after episode 1, you would see all the spoilers in the world. And I can never resist reading them.
And that previous comment was "interesting". I love debate about dramas.
Also, if a person doesn't hate Tong then there is something wrong with them.
The show version is just messy. Everyone should know better but they are human and stuck to their mistakes.
The author is crueler, of course.
I also understand that Ming lies to himself. He can dismiss a stunt man as just fwb, but he doesn’t even know he needs what Joe has.
People who try to keep themselves from getting hurt end up missing out on love. I know you wish Ming didn’t get another chance.
I totally think Ming is more understandable in the show. But that only works for people who carved out their insides with rage at him in the book.
To everyone else he is horrid full stop.
Well, ok, to EVERYONE except me and maybe 3 other people, Ming is more understandable. But that’s normal…EVERYONE ELSE - then me.
