I saw people comparing Top to Brian Kinney, but I thought if we were gonna do the comparison it is clearly Boston, lol, even though it's not really that close.

I feel like a weirdo in that I actually find whatever is going on with Ray (and by proxy RaySand I guess) to be the most compelling thing the show is doing right now, but not the romance stuff. I'm very curious how they're gonna handle the alcohol problems, and how that is' going to damage all of Ray's relationships - I think we already see a little bit of it, how his friends would rather let him do his own thing than deal with him drunk. I can't help but wonder how it'll play into his relationship with Sand, I am less into the Mew thing with him, but different strokes.

Now for romance stuff, Top and Mew have me caught. I am loving watching their push and pull and I can't wait to see what happens when shit hits the fan, so to speak.

We haven't seen Mew yeet Boston into the pool yet. That is something I am really looking forward to. :D

I also think that they might be trying to showcase some class issues around Sand and Ray, but that's more nebulous to me. Right now I think Ray paying for Sand's time and company is going to come up again mostly so that Ray can skewer Sand, lol. Sometimes mess is just mess. But sometimes it isn't.

I'm unsure what you are aiming for yourself, tbh. This is two episodes in; it's quite possible that the themes are going to become more apparent as we go on. Also I think some of the themes are already pretty clear: addiction, manipulation, living fast and hard because you can go at any point (and though we haven't gotten there yet because again, two episodes in, I think the consequences of doing so). I think that most of us are expecting it to have a message or several because Jojo, but even if it didn't, that would be fine too, honestly. I don't see why it has to have one to be good.

I don't think that anyone claimed that this is an accurate and realistic depiction of an entire group of people, aside from you.

And last, who cares if it's not new? Although I would argue that the way that Jojo and co are working to marry a more honest depiction of a certain type of queer life with your traditional BL is a fairly new thing. They aren't the first - I think Moonlight Chicken has done this in it's way, and I Told Sunset About You before that - but it's not something that is done often.

You don't have to like the show or the acting - plenty of people here complain about both, lol (I myself think both are great - each actor is serving what needs to be served for the characters they are playing *at the present* and I for one am enjoying myself immensely), but I hope if you continue to not have fun you find something that better fits whatever standards you have. That's what I hope everyone who winds up not being into this drama does, tbh.

*That* could be what that sinister music and him smirking at a photo of Mew and Ray was all about - there is no evidence because whether or not you believe that Mew is aware of Ray's feelings (I think yes, lots of people think no), he's done nothing to make anyone think he wants him back, let alone anything that can be photographed. Maybe Boston doctors something up - is that too soap villain? I don't even care I'm into it.

and frankly forcebook just sounds better to me. I don't hold with whatever trips people up about shipnames I go with what sounds good (If I use the shipname at all, which frankly I don't really like to do in the first place as I prefer to talk about the roles, not the actors) .

This was a very good episode.

As suspected, Charn was careening so hard towards his power and money dreams because he's absolutely terrified - of changing, of the fact that he wants to change, of feeling anything at all. But it's too late for him. He's been steadily breaking pretty much since Tinn barged into his life, and now I don't think there's any putting that old soft hearted person back in the box. Which doesn't mean he won't still have a streak of ruthlessness to him, of course - I just think it'll be softened.

And put me in facepaint and call me a clown, but I don't believe for a second he's doing anything horribly nefarious by sending Thatthep that photo. Oh yes, the music wants me to think so for sure, and so does the preview, but there's just something about the whole thing that makes me think Charn's pulling some self-sacrificial move here. Maybe I'm wrong, but I have to say I'd be disappointed if he backslid that much after his breakdown this ep, and I just can't see it happening. I think he's sticking his neck out so Thatthep focuses on him and not Tinn and Tinn's family. I also think that that wild night he was talking about with Rose was the night he participated in the burning of the village, and the arm around his waist was Thatthep's.

Speaking of, that flashback was so painful and makes so much sense, really. I think we all knew that Charn's mother had been killed and that's why he's steadily been carving out the part of himself that he thinks got her killed - the idealist, the believer in justice and fairness and doing what is right. But also he immediately went and did the most awful thing he could think of - not only getting his own back against the people who hurt him, but routing the villagers and chasing them out of their homes, destroying the very people he'd sworn to help. It's like he decided to do the worst thing possible so nothing he did after would matter as much. He was trying to burn away his old self as much as he was the village.

He's just so fascinating to me. I love him. Awfulness and all. I don't think he'll ever be truly *good*, but that's fine. I also very much worry that either he or Tinn won't make it out of this, and while I do think that if Charn dies Tinn will eventually be okay, I do not think the reverse holds true.

And okay, fine. FINE. They finally got me with Thaenthai. The way he immediately flipped to utter sweetheart the second he was away from his awful father...okay yes I finally believe there's a good guy in there. And I'm finally seeing some reciprocation of Thee's obvious feelings, which seems fast but also, maybe he's always loved him but again, oppressive household where he has to act a certain way. And now dad is going to figure out that if he hurts Thee it will hurt Thaenthai more than if he just took his ire out on him as usual...I wish we'd gotten this dynamic sooner, honestly.

But at this point I'm past thinking that there's any way to get rid of Thatthep short of death. Tinn won't get the justice of a prison cell, not from someone that powerful. No way in hell.

And also I never claimed it wasn't my opinion. Please don't be offended I mean no offense. I agree that they heavily marketed SandRay anyway - F & K sell right now and it seems pretty clear that they are gonna be the most dramatic of the three couples - it's been said over and over again that they spend a lot of time fighting and crying, lol. I'd market it that way too, we want people to watch! :D

I think it's entirely normal for people to have their favorites, the problem is when it gets nasty when those favorites aren't getting screentime or aren't endgame, etc

Personally I am not watching for any one ship even though I WILL talk about SandTop at any and every opportunity, lol. I have said before and will say again that I will be very surprised if any of the OG ships wind up together.

I will confess that I am a little disappointed that they didn't bring in another GMMTV BL Boy (TM) for Boston to sleep with, though.

I wouldn't bet on it, frankly. Ray knows what he wants from Sand, and it ain't his heart.

Yeah that's pretty much where I am with Mew. He thinks he knows how the game is played and to a point, he does. But he's forgetting that feelings are messy and illogical and that's gonna trip him up.

I have a feeling he's gonna go as toxic as the rest of them fast. And probably screw up way more than anyone else so far (he's gonna take a wrecking ball to everything and I am...well maybe not ready but definitely seated and waiting, lol)

yep this is how I see it, too. First has one job at GMM, and that's to rip our hearts out roughly once a year. So he's right on schedule lol.

I think you're basing too much off of too little - we're on ep 2.

I actually think that Ray and Sand are gonna be exactly like a struck match - quick to start and quick to die out. I feel like Top and Mew are just getting started, and that they're gonna come in swinging once their drama really gets going. And Nick and Boston will be dragged into that more than the other two.

Okay this ep was actually even better than the first one? The first one had a couple stilted moments (and no I'm not talking about the sex scenes don't come at me), but this one flowed from start to finish.

Still can't get behind Ray and Sand though, sorry. Ray's almost certainly going to stay detached due to insulation from his crush on Mew while Sand is gonna fall head over heels and I'm still worried it'll turn him into a doormat who lets Ray stomp on him (and not in the sexy way). Not here for it. I adore Khao but I still don't like Ray. *shrugs*

LOVE Sand though. He's so confident and lovely and I really don't want to see him lose that but well, beep boop.

Really liking Top and Mew still, though. I think Mew thinks he knows what he's doing and he's going to find out soon enough that when it comes to messy things like feelings he really, really doesn't. Can't wait for him to snap later. Of course, the snapping would be no fun without the falling so I'm all for him developing soft feelings.

Boston and Nick...still not sure about those two, tbh. I expect Nick might be the one to cause the real drama. I'd be into it. My best guess is he's gonna be the one to blow the whole Top and Boston thing wide open. Carnage my friends. Pure carnage.

I can't wait.
